Trying to come up with manly or unusual names for a puppy

Rowdy is a "manly" name without sounding mean or being too common. If I were to get another male soon, his name would be "Ruckus Amongus", or Ruckus for short.

Females need a pretty name to counter their boistrous nature.
I like Hunni or Kitty.

I have a boxer named Draven, and a great dane named Mordecai.

I like Twister, Orion, Atticus.
For girls, Gypsy, Gracie, Hailie.

I have a friend who has a min pin and she named her phobia.

I thought it was very cute....

For a male: Weston, Spencer, Ronan, or Hank

For a female: Emma, Stella, Gracie, Esther, Jewell, Hazel, or Greta. I LOVE old-fashioned names!

Some names that I hear a LOT are: Rocky, Duke, Jake, Tyson, and Max. Good names, but too common for me.

I can just imagine the looks from the neighbors when you're outside calling "here Kitty Kitty Kitty!" and a boxer girl comes barreling up the yard! :D

Names are tough to predict - our Buster was going to be Lance, short for Lancelot, but he was just too much of a little goofball to pull off such a dignified name.

Always good to have a list, tho'! Weather related names are cool - Thunder, Twister, Hurricane, Storm, Dewdrop (kidding!)... :p

or so shakespeare said.

Ajax, Cash, Strider or Romeo.

That's how my first boxer, Capulet, got her name -we had Capulet, Montague, Othello and Julius. Shakespearean names will earn you strange looks though.

:).

What about Zeus, Rhett, Kaiser, Tristan, or some of the LOTR names, Aragorn, or Gandolf. Or think of a story you like and the hero's name.

well i LOVE the name Kaiser  but for my males i pick the bad guys out of movies that i like and name em after that (kaiser was named after keyser sozsay from the usual suspects)

Bogart

Ally is getting a bulldog sister in a couple more weeks, and we were trying to pick between two of the litter, one male and one female. We named them both before picking, Bogart and Gracie. Since we opted for the female, I guess you can use Bogart. :)

My next male will be Orion. It's from Greek myth, Orion was a gentle, handsome giant. I can't think of anything better for a boxer boy! Sirius is also Greek, he was the God of the Dog Star.
