Have him checked, and you might have bloodwork and a stool sample done; anemia can sometimes cause fainting in puppies, and worms (especially hookworms) can cause anemia. If the vet hears something louder than a grade 2 murmur, or if he passes out again, I would see a cardiologist as soon as possible. However, vomiting is not typical of heart-related fainting, and fainting is not typical of a true grade 1-2 murmur, so it may be something else. (Another thought is hypoglycemia - how often are you feeding him, and how long had it been since he'd eaten before he passed out?)

I am hoping and praying it is something else. I have been feeding him twice a day. (With biscuit treats after potty breaks throughout the day). He had eaten at about 7 AM and it was 5 PM when it happened. He was at the vet on the 15th for a check when we got back from the breeder's and no worms. I will have them check again on Tues and do bloodwork. Thanks for the advice! I am really stressed and so hope that this is not heart related.

Oh my goodness, I think JulieM may be right, that is far too long for puppy that age to go without food - the vomit and fainting when exercising on an empty stomach would typically induce a hypoglycemia attack

He should still be fed little and often - he is only a baby - he needs to be fed four times a day.

I agree with the last reply. Our puppies need to be fed more than twice a day. This sounds like a case of hypoglycemia rather than heart related. It was the first thought that came to my mind.

I wish you and Coop all the best. I hope the little feller is going to be ok. Please try (easier said than done, I know) not to get too stressed, he may get that vibe from you and cause him some undo stress also. Please keep us updated, for I know you have waited so long for this baby.

I'm glad that you have contacted the breeder, however I can't help but wonder why the breeder didn't go over puppy feeding with you at the time of purchase. Puppies are growing and it takes alot of energy to grow as fast as they do. They need good, nutritious food to do this.

It has been a while since I have had a pup, but raising our last two Boxer boys they ate twice a day too and did fine. I guess I should not have assumed that this guy would be exactly the same. I am hoping that (even though I will feel like a jerk) low bloodsugar was the cause, and that it was not related to his murmur.. He most definitely gets great food, I will just make sure to feed him at least three times a day for now. It just all freaks me out because of the fact that he has a murmur in the first place..
