This will be Memphis's First Christmas...I am hoping she will leave the tree alone, but she only 11 months old...and a boxer so I'm sure we'll be chasing her around the house to get all of our stuff back:)

Thankfully my two have never messed with the tree in the 2 years I've had them...knock on wood smashicon ;)
Usuallly they just sniff at it when it first goes up but that's the most interest they show...

Layla was good for a day and I thought I was off the hook...ha I came home to the ribbon pulled off the tree and two bows on the floor followed by a smashed glass ball.. And as much as I wanted to be mad all I could think was that what if she ate some of that glass... She is being blocked off from the tree from now on.... To help keep us both sain....

We're putting our tree up this weekend, I really hope Ally doesn't pull it down. I never even thought of this before now, so thanks for the heads up!!

I'm sure the same scene will be played out in many boxer homes this Christmas. Tree goes up, tree goes down, boxers running round and round. evilicon

Ginger's first Christmas I made the mistake of putting up a tree and all of the house decorations to boot. I came home one day and my tree was knocked over, water all over the floor, she had pulled the garland off of my fireplace and it was barely recognizable, and she chewed a foot and hand off of my Santa that is writing his list behind his desk, now he looks like the love child of Captain Hook and Peg Leg! That was 3 Christmas' ago. I'm giving her another try this year, and so-far so-good. I started out by putting just the tree without any decorations in the living room for a few days. I just decorated it and am hoping that all of the "sparkley things" don't attract too much of doggies attention.

I can't wait till after Christmas to hear everyone's "Boxers 1st Christmas horror stories"

Hang in there everybody!! It's only for a month!!!

I had to laugh at your post....

I put up our Christmas tree lastnight and then let Jackson in (this is his first xmas) anyway, he ignored the tree for a couple of hours and then I think it got the better of him.

He gets up of his mat, goes over to the tree and starts smelling and licking the decorations. He then sneaks a decoration in his mouth and tries to pull it off the tree - meanwhile the poor tree is starting to fall off the table.

I call out his name (in my very motherly voice) and he then turns around and looks at me like 'what.......'

They are so darn cute :)

Our tree is up too. Samson and Delila will not stop taking the directions off. So I had an idea: I have this small singing Christmas tree that is activated by motion detection. So I put it in front of the tree. You should have seen their faces the first time it went off. They both back peddled and Delilah sang woo woos with it. They forgot about the tree. This was more interesting. So funny!

LOL I am looking forward to getting our tree, but not to what Rayne & Kimber may do to it. This is their first Christmas, so we will see!!
