If the furbabies keep getting in the tree you could put it up in a play pen. We had to do this when our children were babies. It worked and we just put the presents in the play pen.

I have this small singing Christmas tree that is activated by motion detection. So I put it in front of the tree. You should have seen their faces the first time it went off. They both back peddled and Delilah sang woo woos with it.

This cracked me up! I can just hear the woo woos.

We have to keep up baby gates so our girls can't go in the living room or upstairs. It's too hard to keep an eye on them 24/7 and they still can be mischievous. So, at least this year our tree is safe.

We do have an animated Mickey and Minnie Mouse that stand about 18 inches high. Minnie is in a rocking chair knitting, and Mickey stands next to her holding a lantern. It is in the entryway, just past one of the gates. When we put it up, Marcella stared at it with such a funny look on her face, then they both barked at it and backed away. After a while they forgot about it - until a few hours later when Marcella rediscovered that evil Mickey and Minnie were still there and went through the whole routine again. Very funny!

Well two nights ago me and the BF finally put up our christmas tree...we left if alone for two night with no decorations on it so Memphis could get used to it...well she was really good :D --until late last night. About 1:00 a.m. I heard her drinking, so I got up to check that she wasn't bothering the tree....well there on the living room floor was what once used to be a mouse in a red stocking:eek: !!! So of course as soon as I picked it up she did the boxer burn back into the bedroom and laid down:rolleyes: ! At least I was smart enough to leave the expensive one in the box until next year!

We finally put up our tree last weekend and Apollo has been doing wonderfully with it. He looks at it and walks right passed it. Now, my nineteen month old, that's a different story:eek:
