I would recommend a few good sturdy rubber ones that he can chew on. Kongs and Cuz' are good examples. Plush ones are good too. We still have most of the ones we got when Bella was small.

I too would recommend the kong and cuz toys. They are actually tuff enough to last. Joey loves plush toys but they dont last 5 min. (literally). Any ball that is not small enough to be swallowed is a good one too. We have tennis, soccer and footballs for Joey to play wth. Frisbees are another good one. We have the hard plastic and the rubber ring with the cloth center.

Kongs, especially the kong wubba, cuz and nyla bones rule in our house. If you do buy a plush toy I recomend the ones by AKC they tend to last a little longer I've gotten almost a whole month out of one of the ducks. Other plushes last about 10-15 minutes. Also watch closely if you do give a plush, so your puppy doesn't eat the stuffing. I've had to pull some out of Thor's backside. Thankfully it passed!

Any box seems to be the most popular!
She loves the Kong frisbee, some yellow hard rubber octopus-looking thing (found in the dollar bin at Petco), and a plush duck.
