I really hope that he will be ok ,im sure the vet will be able to tell you if it is salmonella or not.
Sending lots of healing <<<vibes>>> your way. and keep us posted .

He is doing better. I'm even more suspicious with the second type of food recalled, and several people on different message boards who have dogs on TOTW with very sick dogs. The emergency vet gave him a shot of very strong antibiotics, so I doubt he would test positive for salmonella. I am considering sending his food to get tested by an independent lab. Something is rotten...

TOTW Puppy Dry Formula added to Recall list.

I just received this notice dated today. TOTW Dry Puppy Food is recalled now.

Diamond Dog Food Recall Widens | Dog Food Advisor

We were going to switch our Lab puppy to TOTW but I think we'll stay with the current food and see how this all works out. I'm keeping a close eye on Beau since he east Natural Balance LID but he's on the whitefish/potato. So far it appears to only affect the Lamb products but who knows for sure? I hope they get this under control soon.

Yeah one of the Chicken Soup formulas was just recalled a few days ago as well. I'm not surprised - I think this is all still part of the first recall they issued, and there will probably be more recalls coming down the line.

Sales staff was highly recommending Nutrisource as they have a grain free version now. I wasn't overly impressed. Anyone using this?
We sell a boat load of Nutrisource. Personally I'm not too excited about it either. I do like Pure Vita, which is made by the same company but is kind of their "higher end" line (like how Nutro Ultra is higher quality than Nutro Max). They also have both grain-inclusive and grain-free formulas. Nutrisource is still a decent food, but yeah.. it doesn't have me jumping up and down.

As a company, I love Fromm. Juno doesn't do fantastic on their foods (but I think part of it might just be the formulas I've tried so far - mostly duck based) but I SO wish she did because they are a fantastic company that I would have no trouble supporting.

I think we are probably only in the beginning of this... I won't be surprised if this turns into a huge scandal!
I bought Acana for Happy and Sky and they love it. And there is a lot less poop from both of them.

Daisy has been on TOTW kibble with a little bit of TOTW canned food for months now... About a week and a half ago she had a couple of vomiting episodes (she never vomits normally, except when waking up from her spay); she also developed incredibly runny/smelly diarrhea. That was before I had seen there was anything going on with Diamond foods, so I kept her on that food. Since I saw these threads, however, I've switched her to Earthborn. Better safe than sorry!

If any of you can make a call to TOTW and let them know that your pups have been ill too, it may give them more info than what they are claiming: "There have been no reported illnesses". Which peeves me, because I know of 6 owners including myself that contacted them about their dogs being sick.

I also found in some research, in 2005, this plant was responsible for hundreds of pet deaths due to contaminated food. So, I am surmizing that this plant has not learned it's lesson and is refusing to change protocols in their manufacturing.

I will NOT be buying any of their foods ever again. This is an absolute disregard for the customer's pet health and well being. I assume the star ranking will reflect that soon, at least I hope.

I have switched to Earthborn and have to say, my dogs are thrilled!! AND I am finding the poop size is even smaller! YES!!! Their coats are getting back to the shiney fur they once had months ago and their energy has improved. Looking back, I am thinking that TOTW was bad food for several months. I started to notice issues back in December with Buster. First appetite, then diahrrea, then abnormal shedding, rough fur, excessive thirst, grass grazing which he has never done, ever! About a month ago, you would have thought I had goats and not dogs. All four were grazing every time they went outside.

I'm so happy to have my dogs on their way to health again. I was really getting worried about them.

Hmmm. I wonder if that "no reported illnesses" claim includes the 14 confirmed cases of human salmonella that have been directly linked to Diamond's plant in Gaston, SC. So much for transparency.

I know many of you feed TOTW. Here's the latest update on the TOTW recall:

Taste of the Wild Recall

I also read some conflicting reports about the only affected variety of TOTW to be included in the voluntary recall is the lamb formula. According to this link, the recall includes all skus (no cat or can skus are affected ... or so they say.):
