Boxer Buddy
Millenia Dog Food

My two male boxers are both small in my opinion-Joe weighs 54 pounds and Charlie is almost 60. Joe is pure muscle, not an ounce of fat on him. Charlie is only 11 months old and is built like a sausage. We feed then Millenia Wolf King dog food and THEY LOVE IT. It restored Joes coat from being very dry and brittle to a shiny, soft coat. I am not so much concerned about their actual weight as long as they eat good which they do and are still active, which they definitely are. They both look good, and the food cut down on their GAS. Not that it was an issue before, but lets be honest, if something will help curb it, why not?

The food is at specialty stores only and not cheap, but I would NEVER feed my boys Iams or Science Diet or Eukanuba. Everyone should do some research and find out what "bi-products" are really made of and you all might think twice about feeding it to your babies......

sawdust, rodents, leftover animal parts, urine, feces, you name it. I wouldn't feed that stuff to my worst enemy, let alone my boys. My dogs eat better than I do, but they are worth every cent.

First off...
I sooo agree with BoxerMom 13! I'm sure everyone has heard the saying, "You are what you eat...!" Now that's scary enough for humans, cuz we eat some crazy food, but think about your poor dog! Bi-Products?! Maybe you pal doesn't like his food?

I also agree with the adding of "goodies", just make sure your pal has no allergies to those "goodies".
Chicken Broth and Yogurt work very well with Sirus...whom is a VERY picky eater. *Yogurt also works for gas, for those who didn't know. I understand this is a BOXERWORLD, and that every boxer owner knows that...duh! ;)*

I started feeding Sirus Canidae about a month ago and have stopped the "goodies", because he just wants the food! He also looks so much more healthy...

*I was feeding Sirus Nature's Recipe Breed Specific for Working Group...and he just didn't go for it. Thanks to the wonderful people from Boxerworld...I found the best food for Sirus.*

Leah, James, and Sirus too!!!

Thanks for this thread!!!!

I am having a similar problem with my Hugo baby. He's 2 and a half and I always thought he'd fill out but he still looks 'ribby'. He's VERY tall, and is only 63lbs. He'd lost two lbs since christmas. He's so tall and so active that he has never filled out. I know Boxers are supposed to be defined, but I think his ribs are a little too visible. I'm going to try adding the puppy food to his diet. He's a picky eater so we already add canned to his meals but that hasn't helped unless he is sendentary.

I am laughing as i have two 1 year olds who are topped out last month at 43 and 45 pounds.....My white boxer is tall and long and lean, can see her last 4 ribs (which i am told is normal).......weighed in at 45 .......My fawn is a stocky, solid mass of clumsy, chunky love....he looks SO much bigger than my white girl......but it just goes to show you!! Both our vet and the nutritionist say they are healthy as they can be....They say they will have less problems with joints and hip dysplasia later on in life....My chunky boy is about to have to go on a diet according the the nutritionist!! They have been on Flint River Ranch and Chicken Soup...plus they get lots of yummy addins....Good food is a must,,,,but everyone of them is SO different!
