I don't believe Tae has ever hit herself with her tail while beaning. She's hit plenty of other things, though, namely the doorframes and walls. In June, she had to have her tail x-rayed after it got all swollen. The vet thought she'd broken it, but she hadn't!

She's able to catch the very tip of her tail, but the tip is a bit fuzzy, so she can't really grab onto it. I think it's so funny to watch her go round and round after tha tail. I especially like it when I can heae her teeth click together b/c she's missed the tail.

Dakoda is MAD for her tail. It has a tiny white tip on the end and she chases it and chases it and chases it!!!! If she does fall on the floor from dizziness, she just keeps chasing it. She catches it all the time and sometimes she holds her mouth open and just lets it wag in and out. It is a deadly weapon, Im not sure how much feeling she has in hers it has a kink at the end from chasing it all the time!! Hers spins round in a circle too, I'm sure shes going to fly off one day!

Jack LOVES his tail! He spends a good deal of time chasing it in circles and biting it once he catches it. He doesn't usually get himself in the face but he sure whips the rest of us with it and has cleared the coffee table once or twice! Gotta love it!

Completely Boxer Crazy
Catching the tail seems to defeat the purpose I think...it stops the game and he gets all disappointed. We just love to watch his tail, it goes a million different ways depending on his mood. But he does have good control of it-if you try to catch or or if the cat sticks out a lazy claw-he can just tuck it away even if he can't see you, he just seems to sense it. I can't imaging him not having a tail, it's so expressive. We just had to learn where to put the coffee table so nothing gets knocked:) We heard a lot of horror stories about broken tails and whatnot but I think it's been blown way out of proportion, they are not stupid after all, even though we hear it wacking things and think it must hurt, Garvin really is quite aware & protective of it.
Long live the tail

catch it

Sure they do. When Baron get’s-a-mov’in he smacks everything within reach. It smacks him in the eyes sometimes, ouch, but its just the tip. When he wags it, it goes in circles, round –n- round. He can catch his tail.

There were many, many times when I told my hubby that I was thankful Shadow's tail was cropped. He was such a happy boy and that stub wiggled constantly!

Miss you Shadow man (crossed the bridge 8/3/05)

Snoop and Dottie's tails are docked, but we actually took the coffee table out of the house, to make more room for them! :)

Tre's puppysitter has an all natural boxer named Ginger. I've seen Ginger chasing her tail. I haven't seen her hit herself with her tail. But I know one thing.... when she gets excited, that tail of her hurts my legs when it wags back and forth.

tail is quite a weapon

Reba catches her tail all the time. She loves to chase it and when she goes in a circle she kinda jumps up and down like a galloping horse it is so cute!

I love the way she curls her tail and she shows so much emotion with it.

There is a Boxer at my apt complex that has a natural tail, and he is SO good looking. His human says he chases it around all of the time and smacks himself in the face, lol. I have had the "wrath" of his tail at the dog park lol...he whips that thing around pretty good.
