On Tuesday, July 27th, my boy took his last breath in my father's arms around 2:30PM. He lost his battle with Lymphoma after a few months. At first I thought he had beat it, he went into complete remission but on Friday his symptoms returned full force. First thing Monday morning we took him in and he relapsed, hard. He was given an injection that was supposed to boost his stats up and get him better but by Tuesday morning he wasn't doing well. I called my father and asked him to please pass by the house and check on him because I was at work and I got a call from him at 2:09 telling me he wasn't doing well. I rushed home but regrettably, I didn't make it on time.
The loss that my family is feeling is a great one. The house is so very empty without him and every day since when I walk through the door I can't fight the tears that find their way out. He had been doing so well, its so hard for me to believe that he's gone so suddenly.
Rocky,
I could never find the words to express the joys you brought into my life just by being in it. You were my pride and joy. So many people loved you after just one meeting, you touched many hearts and know that we all wept for you, and some of us still do. I love you baby boy, know that you still hold a very special place in my heart and you will never, ever, be forgotten. You were so much more than "just a dog", you were part of the family and we loved you all the more for it. I miss you so very much, I'm so sorry that you had to leave us but I find solace in knowing that one day we will be reunited again. I hope you knew that even though I wasn't by your side when you passed, I had you in my thoughts and in my heart. Grampa never left your side and I'm glad he was there to hold you as you crossed the bridge. I love you Rocky, more than I could ever say and I pray that I made your years here on Earth as happy and joyous as you made my life. You are now reunited with Princess, and I know you are in no pain. You were my best friend, there during some very hard times and also there for some great times. Grandma and I miss you and love you very much. You will never be forgotten.
