It was a loonnnnggg road to getting my Paisley(as some of you know!). To say the least, BW was my saving grace and put me on the right track to finding a very good, very reputable breeder. I finally found one that was actually located in my city, and I was very excited about it! I found the breeder in April of last year, and finally got to meet them at a dog show back in September. They were very nice and told me to keep in touch about a planned breeding..so I did! I called a few times b/t sept&oct. In noc. I was told the pups were due in December 5th. So, I called back a week before the 5th to see how things were.. no pups yet. So I waited another week and a half and called again! The pups were born on the 6th.. the only thing is that there was one brindle female(expected to turn show) and three white pups(1 male, 2 females). I really had wanted a classic fawn male, so I sorta gave up on this litter, but told the breeder that I would think about it. The week after Christmas we were at walmart of all places when I saw the breeder and went and spoke to them.. I asked how the pups were, etc. The breeder told me if I wanted to come see them to give them a call..so I did. On January 19th we went to visit the breeder and the pups. They were the most adorable things. I went with NO intentions to get one of the pups.. but love overtook me! Two days following that were torture, trying to decide whether to get one(two white females were available). The night after going to the breeder's I called them and told them I *thought* I was intered in the pups left.. the breeder told me to think it over and not to be in a rush. I had the feeling, though, that if I didn't get one they'd be gone and there was my chance gone. I called them the next night and told them I was interested and wanted one. On the 22nd I went a picked up my beautiful baby Paisley! During this whole time, the breeder and I(and my mom) became quite good friends! Sorry this was so long! But that's the story of Paisley! :p

Well my first baby Angel came to me on a fluke. I work at a mp station and one of the desk sargeants got a boxer for his son. Well his son's mother didn't think that he would be able to take care of her properly so he was brining her to the job for some potential buyers. Well wouldn't you know, when I saw her I fell in love and told him that Ihad to have her. Luckily the guy knew if he gave her to me she would be well taken care for, and let me have her. I've been blistful ever since. Then of course I didn't know how to stop and got my 3 month old boxer Teufel. I love these guys.

My sweet demon evilicon Tessa came from a local breeder. She was my first ever dog and I really wanted a puppy.

Curly came from the Heart of Ohio Boxer Rescue www.heartofohioboxerrescue.com. We drove 4 hrs each way (on the way home Tessa was so riled that all 80# of Curly rode home on my moms lap! While I held the demon and "daddy" drove).

Jeff and I were volunteering with a local rescue group here when another volunteer found we had boxers . She was trying to find a home for Eagle - his foster Mom couldnt keep him as she had an elderly male and the 2 were fighting. Eagle was 4 and on heart meds so finding a home wasnt easy. He was well papered, but when he didnt win he was passed around. Finally a Doberman rescue took him - they found him basically starving and forgotten - tied to a tree. The people gave him up - AKC papers and all. He was 20 # underweight - but doing great now.

We got Hogan from a breeder in Sept. '03 when he was 7 weeks, 3 days old. We were thinking about getting 2 puppies but by the time we decided they were already sold, so we just got Hogan. 2 weeks later the breeder called and asked if we wanted the other one because the guy brought him back. It was at the only time in Hogan's puppyhood that I thought I could never handle 2 of these little tazmanian devils at once and declined. About 2 months later, I realized I need another boxer in my life. We rescued Hilda from a Southern Jersey rescue and she is blessing to our household. She's older so we don't have 2 puppies, but I think that's a good thing. :)

i got Rocky from a breeder up in Ft. Pierce, about 3-4 hours away from Miami. I had been searching for breeders for about 2 months but had no luck. Either no litters were planned, or puppies were spoken for. Then the very same night that I felt like giving up my search I received an e-mail! I had been so sad and down that my BF took up the search and got excited when he opened the e-mail from one of the breeders we contacted and wouldn't you know it.. there was a picture of Rocky! We drove the 4 hours up and fell in love at first sight. My BF held him the whole way back down and well.. Rocky was car sick the entire time, throwing up several times :( There were tons of pit stops but my BF & Rocky really bonded

Our little boy Vegas came to us thanks to my then girlfriend (now fiancé as of this past Saturday) fiestaicon

She had never had a dog growing up but always wanted one. I grew up with dogs all my life but were always shephard, huskies or mixed breeds of some sort. Very close friends of hers had a boxer growing up and she always wanted one. When we moved into an apartment above my office we felt the time was right to get a puppy. We have a nice big back yard and my Boss is a real dog lover and allows me to bring Vegas to work everyday.

I wanted another shephard but since Robin (robinette on BW) had never had a dog before, I wanted it to be her choice. Of course she said Boxer. Once I did some research and met with some breeders, I was hooked! I don't think we will ever own another breed!

We had a maltese and a bichon frise whom we love dearly, but decided we wanted a larger dog. My aunt and her family had a boxer and they told wonderful stories about him. So when I came across an ad in the paper for boxer puppies we went that day and brought Sidda home. The family lived on a military base and had both parents. I thought I was prepared and asked questions about shots, health guarantees, and types of food, but I didn't know to ask about health tests. I didn't learn about BYB's until later. We are lucky that Sidda is very healthy and has a good temperment. I am glad that she inspired me to learn more about the breed and become better educated and when we are ready for out next boxer we will rescue or buy from a responsible, reputable breeder.

I got Louie from a pet store. I of course do not support them. I'm quite against them truthfully, but I saw him and couldn't resist. My bf at the time and I were walking through just looking at the puppies, and there he was. He was in a glass box with shredded news papers. It broke my heart because he looked so lonely. We had them get him out for us, and I held him and he was just licking my face with his stinky puppy breath. I went to set him down, to watch him walk.... well, you know those cars that you pull backwards to get the wheels all wound up, and then let go and they just take off? That was Louie. I put him down and he went ripping round the pet store 100 mph!! I had to chase him down to get him back.... come to think of it, two years later I'm STILL chasing him!!

i got my 2 year old, Oscar from a pet store in Woodbridge, it's kinda sad story really. He's originally from a breeder in Olahoma. The pet store was horrible, and the employees could care less about the pups. They had tons of little purebred puppies ( I think it may have been a puppy mill) all together in one crate!!! I had my heart set on a fawn boxer, then I saw Oscar, sitting in the middle of the crate not minding any of the other dogs that were jumping all over. My mom picked him up out of the crate and handed him to me. He couldn't stop licking me and it was love at first sight!!! I noticed something on the side of Oscars body it was a patch of scaly or scraped skin. The lady said it was nothing, "he must've just gotten caught on the crate". I had him checked at the vet and it turned out he had ring worm, mange and kennel cough. I was so mad at the people at the pet store, I called them to let them know that it was not "just an injury". The lady said, "you can return and exchange him if you want" What??!!! Who could do such a thing?! I couldn't let him go after holding him in my arms.I went through a lot of heartache at first, he was extremely skinny and would not eat, he had a horrible cough and god knows what else, I would cry holding him while he slept I thought he was going to die in my arms, but he pulled through like a champ!! Anyway, now Oscar is loved more than anything in the world by his mom & dad and the rest of the family! I am so happy I didn't keep looking for another.

We found Austin on Petfinder.org. We knew we wanted a boxer, and traveled 2 1/2 hours to get him from a shelter. Not quite a rescue, but I feel we saved him from being "smoked".
