What a beautiful girl! :) What a blessing you are to her and so will she be to you. Your story is very moving. I'm so glad that Brindi found you!

(On a side note - when I adopted Conner, the rescue organization had his name listed as ConnOr and the foster mom referred to him as ConnEr, so I had the same problem with deciding how to spell his name! I finally just got into the habit of spelling it Er because I corresponded so much with his foster mom. Both spellings (depending on the website) mean, "Much wanted," which I found to be most appropriate. Funny that you went through the same dilemma on spelling!)

Thanks! She is a sweetie and appearing younger daily-man, I wish I could do that! You know seriously, how people say pet owners begin to resemble their dogs...jowls-ouch! Love your pup's name-ConnER-sounds so MONLY!

She is so beautiful. On your last picture she really looks young, happy and healthy. I am so glad that she found you and your wonderful family.

We're going to the beach tomorrow and of course taking Brinde with us, can't wait to see what she thinks of the ocean. Any suggestions? We are going to Emeralde Isle and it is about 4.5 hours. Should I withhold food in the am? I know we will have to stop sometime but just not sure how often. We never took our other dogs to the beach but kenneled them here in town but since she is a fairly new release, I didn't think she would tolerate a kennel so soon.

Brinde Bear

Remember the old adage "no news is good news"? Life is good, Brinde is so sweet. I have a friend at work who has adopted 3 boxers over the years and she has had some horror (tho funny) stories to relay-about drapes hanging in the morning...coming home from work and they aren't, multiple stories! I still
cannot understand how Brinde came to be in the shelter, she is incredible. She doesn't have any interest in the cats and has even gotten used to Hershey sashaying around her legs. I crated her during the day while at work for 3 days, then gave the crate back to my friend. She is always wherever I am in the house, her one fault is that she is a terrible barker when someone comes to the door. I have never had a barker and it scared me at first that she may be agressive with strangers so I have been very cautious when someone has come over. Well, she proved herself when we had to leave to take our daughter to college, rather than put her in a kennel because of her past, I asked a neighbor who has a dog and we have always reciprocated, if she would mind coming and letting Brinde out while we were gone overnite. I was nervous at first, what if Brinde bites Randi?! I called home after a few hours to see how Brinde was. Randi said she didn't even bark?! when she walked in the house. What? We talked a couple times that evening-everything was fine. The next day I called to check and (i had bragged that Brinde is so good-NEVER gets on the furniture) Randi said everythings great, Brinde is eating well, going outside, no problems oh, and by the way-yeah, she does get on the couch, in fact she didn't even get up when Randi came over to let her out-she was so comfortable! My neighbor said she barks because I'm there with her, she never did when we were gone. Go figure. She weighs 56lbs up from 43 when we got her. My husband is out of town or I would bug him to post some new pics. Sorry I've neglected boxerworld but I figured you had probably heard enough about Brinde. Thanks for asking!
Don't you wish you could know what their past was? Sometimes when she sleeps and she is yelping and wagging her stub, I have to wonder is she thinking of us or her past life. I love her, she is definately not my Sophie girl but one in herself and just as special. A boxer thru and thru... enough said.

Id so love to know about Lilys past, just to know what her family was like, what her old name was, what her puppies looked like etc. Guess ill never know but its always in the back of my mind.

Its just goes to show that rescuing/adopting is so rewarding because they give back so much :D
