I have got the best kids in the world! DH and I celebrated our 25th anniversary on Oct. 30th, yep, Halloween eve...should tell you something.
We had hopes of going to Hawaii this year with our 3 grown sons, but eldest was deployed again, so it didn't work out, we've put it on hold for a few years. So, we thought, we'll go to the lake and just sort of chill as we never really have made an issue out of our anniversary.
Last Saturday, boy #2 asked if he could take us out for coffee, he wanted to talk to his dad about his upcoming 'round the world trip' that's will be in another thread soon! We had a lovely hour or two, he presented us with a spa certificate and the softest robes in the world from all three of the boys. We were happier than pigs in very special mud.
As we got home, he mentioned that he had invited a few people over to our house while we were gone. All I can say is those boys are sooooo lucky that I vacuumed and dusted that morning! A few of our closest friends and relatives managed to pretty well fill up the house. Even my grandmother came down (4 hour drive) for the party. The only disappointment was that our eldest son could not be there, but he is back in the States and did call, so you could say that all is right with my world.
No doubt that I wll be back here soon, telling you how simply awful Bill, Jeff or Mike is behaving. And it will be true!
That's real life.
But for the moment, let me tell you how grateful I am for such wonderful sons. Yes, they even cleaned up after the party. Such good boys, I'm a grateful mom. lovicon
