Well, we had a tough weekend and Evie & Adam decided to let us know that we were gone to much!!

First, we worked all day Friday, then DH & I went out and didnt get home til really late. Then, Saturday morning, the kids had dance and I had school - so again, we were gone. Well, when I got home from school on Saturday, I came home to quite the mess....

First, one of the pups had an accident!!! This hasnt happend in who know's how long!! I'm not sure which pup cuz they BOTH were slinking around. So, no punishment and I just clean up the mess. Then, I notice that all the couch cushions are on the floor - I'm thinking - "ok, nothing new here" :D they were just playing. WRONG! mixed in with the cushions - my daughters school back pack. The dogs destroyed it!! They ripped all the pockets off of it. Her books and pencils are everywhere. They also took all the blankets off the corner shelf (we have blankets cuz it gets cold in that room while watching tv) and pulled them across the room.

I put them both in a sit, showed them the backpack. again, the both slinked down!! I think it was a team effort of destruction!!! They both got time-out while I cleaned up the rest of the mess.

The did get some extra luvin's later that nite and lots of snuggles at bed time. But, I guess we better spend some more quality time with them in the future!

What a mess......

Sounds like they had quite a party while you were out. Our first boxer was like that. She was the most well behaved, well mannered furbaby I've ever had and never got into trouble unless....you left her alone too much or for too long. She needed her people, just like Boxers do. It's hard sometimes when you've got a plate full of actvities and a lot of them unfortunately don't accomodate your babies. I know the weekend before last I was running all weekend with my kids to differant functions. I didn't feel like I was home but about 4 hours the whole weekend. Coco is still crated so thankfully we don't have to worry about her or the house but she did rip her pillow open and pulled all the stuffing out!

I feel your pain!! One night Josh and I stayed out pretty late with some friends...when we got home we were so tired because it was so late...but we let Har and Max out of their crates to have run of the house while we slept...when we are home, they rarely get into mischeif...well Josh heard something loud at like 4am...come to find out it was Max and Har shredding our couch!! Luckily most of the damage was hideable...but we did end up getting a new couch. LOL!

I feel your pain. We always come home to find the house looking like the dogs just had a party.
That's too bad about the backpack! If your daughter had any homework she could literally use the old "dog ate my homework" excuse.

arg!! they are worse today! my daughter just got home from school and called to tell me that one of the doggies pee'd on the sofa :( and they managed to get into the office and destroyed a box (not really sure what the box was cuz its so bad!)

man! i hope i dont have to go back to the kennels.....

Oh no! Hope it gets better! Cisco is still crated when we are gone. But he's still a pup.

Oh man! Perhaps crating them is the best idea for now. That must be awful to wonder what you are coming home to :(

Wow Jenny...I think they are protesting!! Looking at their Christmas pic, they are sweet angels (actually Evie has that "I'll teach you" look doesn't she! :p )
I'm thinking that they really hate school as it takes their skin-kid away from them 5 days a week!! Pulling the blankets across the room was their feeble attempt at trying to cover up the mess!! Peeing on the couch....well, there must have still been a hint of scent from that nasty school they hate so much! I know...not funny! :o
Maybe some crate time will be needed during your busy schedule, just to help them with the seperation anxiety until all returns to normal? Every once in awhile they all need to be reminded of the rules! Hopefully you don't come home to any more surprises...good luck to you!
