There has got to be something I can do to prevent 50 bajillion mud paw prints on my kitchen floor! Everytime they come in there is a whole bunch of new ones. We tried wiping all 8 feet, but the whole family is lazy and won't, and even if you wipe still have some prints. I have an area rug too, but that doesn't help much. Anyone have any brilliant creative ideas? 5 months of muddy kitchen is yucky.

The only thing I can think of is to have them wear booties. Then take off the booties before they walk on the kitchen floor. :)

we have the same problem, we wipe feet, but somehow still end up with paw prints over the kitchen floor (which is no biggy) compared to all over the carpet!!!! it is crazy. i might have to try that bootie idea - where can u get them?

Ya compared to us you got it easy. All of our Apt is carpet:mad: except for the kitchen and a little tile at the entry. Consider yourself lucky.:p Anywho sorry no suggestions, but the booties idea sounds good. foundicon

The story of my life - I must clean my kitchen floor 10 times a day - it drives me nuts, next time I am getting a dark color on my floor our current floor is white.

I make the dogs come in and out through the basement most of the time, and I keep a towel by the door and wipe their paws before they come upstairs especially on wet days. So by the time I wipe their paws and they run around on the rugs in the basement for a couple of minutes it helps to clean their paws off before they get to the kitchen.

I keep a very large rug right by the back door, and I do wipe all paws. Another handy gadget is a Swiffer wet jet. It cleans those muddy paw prints up! Sometimes I just wipe their paws against the big rug.

Yes I have to agree the swiffer is great for a quick clean up of paw prints on the kitchen floor.

LOVE the Wet Jet! It is great! I do have a big rug and wipe the paws. In the summer I have a big tub of water and have them stand in it and then wipe. It's hard when the temp drops and the water is cold though! I don't think there's any good answer but I really don't mind!

I feel for ya, for sure, except times 16 feet!

We moved into a new house end of August, so we get to go thru a whole year of "firsts". Had our first rain/snow/sleet this week. There are 2 ways to come into the house from the backyard:

1 - thru the back door which comes directly into the kitchen/dining area, all of which is ceramic tiled in a very light beige color
2 - thru the 3-season porch, which is carpeted in a light oatmeal berber....DON'T THINK SO!

A gazillion trips in/out each day x 4 dogs. I wipe, wipe, wipe and think I have really wiped their paws good. The one time that I didn't do such a good job is the time they just have to bolt thru the living room/formal dining room, which is carpeted in an almost-pure-white plush.

Most definitely not a dog-friendly house...........what was I thinking......LOL!
