Boxer Buddy
I don't know if this is the place for this, I hope it is. I recently tried to rescue a boxer and 2 cockers from a very nasty place, where they were not being taken care of at all. My son told me about these dogs at a house he was working on, the house had an electrical problem and the people had to temporarily move out. Aside from that the house was NASTY!!!! The dogs you could tell were not being fed, so I was taking them food and water. The dogs fought violently over water. I thought the lady needed to be prosecuted so I turned her in to the dog warden for abuse and neglect. He is not a very nice person at all. He reluctantly came and got the dogs, I had to help him catch 2 of them. You could see the boxers backbone, he was that skinny. The cockers were so matted that it was pitiful. I told him that I would foster the boxer until we could find him a forever home. He blew me off by saying that he wasn't in charge of that anymore, but he'd take my name & number. We now have an organization helping with the shelter called Friends of the Shelter. He never gave it to the lady that runs it. The landlord of the house where they were kept called the dogs owner and told her about her dogs. So she went to the shelter the next day, and he gave the boxer back to her. When I seen him to ask him about the dogs, he informed me that the dogs were back with their owner where they belonged. And that if I knew anything about boxers, I would know that when they are young they are a little on the thin side!!!!!! I tried to politely ask him if that's why they tried to kill over food and water, that they were being taken care of?! I could not believe this, and neither could the ladies that work at the shelter. Since this is not our first run in over abused dogs, I am now trying to get him fired. He has no compassion for animals, and no respect for women. He thinks no one will buck him, well he met his match when it comes to animals. I'll fight him tooth and nail over this case. Wish me luck.
