I have a four foot prelit three on a table where lamp normally sits. Rudy was a little helper when I was putting it up but now I think he is used to light there and has not paid it any attention. My ornaments, just in case are plastic and bows. My cat is the reason I have not had a big three in a long time - he loves to climb it and then slide down.

Last year, Allie attacked the tree and decorations. She would pull the decorations and garland off. I believe she ate a couple of ornaments too. :) This year, she sniffed the tree as it went up, checked out the ornaments and hasn't bothered it...so far. We don't have a fence around it and it is an artificial one.

My boys have done very well with the tree. The first year we had it they only knocked it over one time but it was on accident when they were playing. However, we had their cousin over who is also a boxer and first thing she did was go to my tree and pee on it!!! She doesn't get to come over while the tree is out

Knock on wood - neither of my dogs have bothered the the tree. But last year was Shaemus's first year. I have had small children until recently so it was always non breakable ornaments around the bottem too.
Karen I love the red and green fence! It reminded me of my mom and dad's solution. One year they put the tree in the playpen!! The next few years my dad used wire and tied the top of the tree to the drapery rod (the old fashion bolted in kind)

So far so good at my house....3 dogs, 2 trees and everything is still fine, but they are home alone again today, so maybe I should just shut up! LOL!

Interesting! Marley never bothers our tree at all. He's never given us a reason to worry about it either, and this is our 3rd Christmas with him. I guess we can consider ourselves lucky!

Lucky!

With two cats and a boxer, I am going to do as in previous years and put the tree in the upstairs bedroom!! With the door closed! I can't enjoy the tree as much, but I never have to worry if the tree is still standing. :)

Im more worried of Revan eating an ornament or eating part of the tree. I have caught him a couple of times messing with the cord. He got in big trouble. He was in time out on the chair for 10 minutes he wined the whole time. We do not have any ornaments. It is a fake tree with lights already on it . The kids madde paper ornaments ( candy canes etc ) so in case he feels the need to get into it It will just be paper he eats. But so far so good. Now the cat is another story!!

Its been five days since our tree went up and nothing so far. a couple of ornaments have fallen off since our new tree is too big and people brush by it when they walk between the coffe table and it Harley has picked one up and carried it when he greeted us he likes to have something in his mouth and his tooth went thru but he didn't take it off the tree. I am concerned if some doggy wrestling breaks out in the living room if they will knock it down since there isn't much room

This year I bought a 18" tree that sits on my counter. I decorated it with a small string of lights. That's all I am doing this year. Last year Nash had a field day with the tree. There were balls everywhere not to mention tinsel. Nope, I've learned my lesson. Hope everyone has a great Holiday!
