I was a Social Worker at a local nursing home and has to deal with a similar issue only it was with humans they passed naturally though. It tooks it's toll on me and I had to leave my posistion and move on. I came to the conculsion that some can do it and some cannot. I truely believe there are those people who become cold and to them it is just another passing and other who can't handle the situations at all (that being me) and other who have a soft spot in their heart for the animal and know it is for the best for them and are there to help them over the bridge with a loving and gentle guide.
It is nice to know that there are some people like you out there that are with the animals that have to cross the bridge that genuinely care about them as they cross over.
