I have come to the conclusion that I own the absolute laziest boxer I have ever known. :p Harley will lay around all day and all night on his favorite couch only playing for about 20 minutes at a time than it's right back to sleeping for the next couple of hours. I just can't get over it. I really noticed it last night because he LOVES to sprawl out wherever he lays. Well anyway, he was curled up in a little ball right beside my wife and I on the couch even though his favorite chair was open. I could tell he was dying to walk over but just didn't feel like it:p He then proceeded to get down from the couch only to flop back down halfway accross the living room and streych out and fall asleep again. It's almost like he has a light switch. The second I start playing with him it's like he's on full tilt, but the second I stop he flops right back down and he's out for the count. I was just wondering if anyone else has a boxer thats not very active.

Ours too!

:D Ruby is very much the couch potato! She gets excited in very small spurts (when we come home, when we have visitors that she knows, when we play). 10 minutes of running or play time is about all she needs in one session. We've even had a friend suggest that she needs an anti-depressant (which I wasn't too happy about).

Her favorite toy is a ball that dispenses treats, but she likes to play with it lying down! If it gets out of her reach she just lays there and stares at it while sighing those big boxer sighs. At obedience class, the instructor called her the "queen of settle," as she would just lay at our feet while the other dogs went wild playing and barking.

Her activity level is just perfect for us, though. My husband and I both cherish our sleep-time! Glad to know Ruby's not the only one, though...

I'm greeeeeeen with envy! :D I wish my Samantha was like that. She's a whirling dirvish all day (when I'm home), then finally collapses at night!

Cayenne is very laid back when we are home alone. But the minute she gets a hint we are having company, watch out because the Wild Women is on the loose. Zane because he is still a little guy plays and plays then he falls asleep around 8 and is out until 6 AM. I have no idea what is in store for me the next few months :D

Your right. I guess it's the best of both worlds. When I'm ready to play with him he's like a rocket but then when I'm ready to sit and relax he has no problems taking a nap with his head on my lap:p

My Layla is a huge couch potatoe too! So glad to hear she isn't the only boxer in the world that isn't a whirling bundle of energy. Just like Ruby, she "gets excited in small spurts," like when we first arrive, when I am directly playing with her, at the park, etc., but then she is totally calm and content to sleep on the bed the rest of the time. I actually think it's just perfect! It allows me to be lazy too :p

I've said this before, but like a shark who must swim all the time to keep water flowing over their gills and oxygen moving through their circulatory system, so does Mabel. From the time she is out of her crate...until we go to bed...she is constantly moving. And she will not go to bed until I am in it...whether it's 9pm or 3am she stays awake. Reilly on the otherhand is not so much lazy, as he's just content to sit or lay down...as long as I'm in his line of vision at all times. He too stays up though until I go to bed. I would go crazy though if I had two Mabels...two Reillys would be okay...but definitely not two Mabels.:p

grin2icon I too am green with envy! Sophie is the nosiest, most worrisome little person I have ever seen! She can be in absolute lala land and the littlest change in the room and she is up and snorting and looking around! No one in this house does anything without her inspecting or nosing around! It's really quite funny. I could go for that "laid back" personality once in awhile!

when the lights go out, smokey FINALLY decides to calm it down a bit. when the lights are on .. he is on .. just like the light switch. but he has started a new one with me. he lays ontop of me like a blanket and i then wake up to my 65lb boy on my chest. but even in the middle of the day (or weekends b/c im not home during the day) and i lay down.. he does too. i guess he kinda figured out that shes not going to get up , so i might as well lay down too. and he does.

I LOVE MY BOXER FOR THAT!!!
