I received my order of Force over the weekend. My dogs LUV it. I bought it specifically for my white, who has allergies (grains for one), but I tried out a serving and gave some to all 4. 2 of the gobbled it right up - the other 2 ate it, but it took a while.

The consistency is a little different than they're used to, I'm sure. It's more like a thick stew sorta, I'd say.

I've been mixing some of it with my white's regular kibble, and he eats it all up everytime. I'll continue to introduce it to him gradually, but glad he likes it. We'll see if it helps with his food allergy problems (he also has airbone/inhalant allergies, which are really acting up now with the Fall weather starting in - human allergies are acting up as well this time of year in MN). I also add some fresh vegies/fruits, whatever I happen to have on hand.

I purchased 2 of the supplements as well - Sparkle and not sure of the name of the other one. I add that in when rehydrating the Force.

I have one question. Once I get to the point of feeding strictly Force (no other kibble/canned food), won't my white need something crunchy for his teeth? He can't have beef or turkey - allergies, so none of those bones for him. He seems to do OK with chicken. Just thinking he should be getting something chewy/crunchy. Maybe not?? I'll pose that question to the people at The Healthy Kitchen as well.

Anyway, I'd definitely recommend this food!

Have you ever tried Buffalo? The lady at our natural pet store said it's worked for the majority of dogs that don't tolerate beef. What about lamb?

Quick question about the food. I will be using it for travel and was wondering if it is alright to feed for both meals? Rocks would only be getting it for a few days so I'm sure it will be fine. I'm just double checking. :D

It is, IMO, an excellent alternative to kibble for those not yet ready to go raw.

So, I could just order that, and feed him ONLY that? No kibble or supplements (veggies, etc?) I want to feed raw one day, but for now, I am in law school and to darn busy to actually do it. But I would like to upgradei nt he next couple of months from Canidae. I like Canidae (ALOT) but would consider moving to something like this if it is better for Mac.

Is it cheaper than the barfworld patties? Would those be better? Still trying to figure all this out!
Thanks!:D

It meets all the AAFCO requirements for "complete and balanced nutrition," so you could feed it just like you'd feed kibble.

It is less expensive than the BarfWorld patties, but the BarfWorld patties are a raw diet....just depends on what you want to feed, really. There are prepared raw foods that are less expensive than BarfWorld patties, maybe still a little more expensive than The Honest Kitchen, if you want to go that way but are concerned about cost. IMO, The Honest Kitchen food is in-between kibble and raw.

And with the honest kitchen food if you want to toss in some raw meat or organs every once in a while, you can do that too. :)

Well I ordered a trial size of the Force for Rocks. He got his first taste of it today and he loved it! cool2icon He licked his bowl clean then sat down waiting for some more. So I guess I will be getting a bigger order to have it on hand. :D

Since getting Kabu, our new brindle pup, I've been researching foods. Right now she is eating the Innova puppy food that the breeder used. I like the science behind going raw, but with three small kids and a busy household, I just don't see it happening. There are days we're lucky if our kids get healthy, balanced meals. During my research, I stumbled on the Honest Kitchen feeds and have just ordered a bucket of Embark, their new puppy formula. Any new info on this supplier and on their newest version, Embark?

Thanks,
Greg
