The Greatest American Dog - Presley??

WOW! First off, am I the only one that wasn't surprised that the herding dog did the best... duh!! The judges criticize the people for pushing their dogs, yet, the should know that they are on a reality show where people are winning money and are obviously going to try to complete each challenge. If they don't think it is right... then they should not being judging a dog-reality show that is motivated by money and has crazy insane challenges.
Also, I never saw JD do anything that was inhumane to his dog. Maybe I missed it, but I think Victoria totally over-reacted. His dog works for him because it his his job and he wants to please him. Not because he is afraid of him. Making your dog do things only for treats does not make you a better trainer nor does it make your dog a better dog. I understand where Victoria is coming from but I think she is too black and white about it.
I love this show, but this episode really frustrated me.

I am sooooo glad that Bella Starlett and her mom are gone!

I thought the competition was STUPID!!! Some of the puppies didn't want to follow any other dog. I thought Presley was so cute in the competion, just running around crazy, hehehe. He was so cute in the dog bone suite playing with the puppies too, soooo CUTE!!!

The part where Presley dug, I thought he was awesome. I am glad him and Bill won. I was worried at first, because I thought Presley was going to take off and do some burns, . I cheered out loud when they won! They were great, especially Presley's digging skills, LOL. What boxer can't dig??

Presley rocks! I can't say that my boxers would not do the same. When a dog is told to come he does not wait around to see what the others are doing.

Can I tell you that I think Bill and Star are super? I was happy to see that Bill and Travis were partners. GO TEAM!

It's getting down to the wire now - with so few teams left Presley was bound to be in the bottom 3 again. But thank goodness the judges seem to recognize that Travis treats him well and is trying everything the right way! I thought the disagreement between Laurie & JD was more interesting than the one between the judges. I lost a little respect for Laurie when she said that choke collars and alpha rolls were part of her training - but I did agree that she was correct in the treat part of training. JD certainly is from the old school of training by dominence.

I am just in love with Presley. What a beautiful, smart looking boxer he is.
He is doing so well.

I also love Bill and Star. You can tell he truly loves that dog.

All in all, I still think Presley will win this in the end. He is the youngest dog on the show and he is still kicking butt.

Can't wait for next week. Elephants and dogs........should be interesting.

It looks like maybe they are doing circus stuff next week possibly??? If so, Presley will make a great clown!!! LOL!! I can't wait.

i was so annoyed at the whole challenge last night.
star's dad did push her to finish but was then criticized for doing so. isn't it supposed to be a challenge? I feel like if he quit......they would have criticized him for that too.
then the judges criticized presley's dad because he was too energetic in calling his dog and it resulted in the puppies not following presley.
then andrew was criticised for snapping at a puppy that was pawing at his back. ugh!
oh....I could go on but i will spare you because i was just annoyed at the whole thing.
in training....we train our dogs to come to us when we call them. that means dropping everything they are doing and coming straight to us. the dogs in the challenge last night were doing what they were trained to do.........come when called. most of the dogs didn't want anything to do with the puppies. how were they supposed to know that they were supposed to round up three puppies and lead them out of the maze? they can't rationalize that!
sorry to be a downer but i just didn't think it was fair to criticize the dogs the way they did.
on the up side......I LOVE PRESLEY. he's adorable.

Of course I am partial to Presley, he is after all a Boxer but, and don't hate me for saying this, I would truly like to see Bill and Star win the competition, I think they have a really special connection.
I am also glad to see Beth and Bella Starlett go.

I'm with you WAT. I'm partial to Presley as a boxer lover. But Bill and Star do have such a special bond, and respect for everyone. I'm just so afraid if Presley wins, everyone will run out and buy boxers. Not knowing how much work comes with them or any dog. I think the judges need to come down off their pedestals and realize these folks are amateur trainers. The participants are all doing a fantastic job considering they are cut off from their loved ones. And I agree, Bella Starlett needed to go. Crybaby owner not doing well with training her "traumatized rescue dog". If I heard that a dozen more times out of her mouth, I was going to scream. She just doesn't know how to train the simple commands, and she was losing patience. Great show!! My entire family is rooting for Presley!
