Right now I.m next too my furbaby Jake and I've been crying and lying next to him for two days. Jake is a 11 year old boxer boy who is in congestive heart failure and the time has come to send him to the bridge. It is 945 am chicago time and he will be going to the bridge at 245pm today. I have lost loved one's in my life but this by far is the saddest and most difficult loss I have every felt. Jake had been at my side durring the most difficult times of my life. I don't know life without him and how I will cope. I do have a fur baby Jessie, She is a 1 year old boxer and she will have a tough job to fill the void. (she too Knows jake is not doing good). I could use any words of encouragement anyone has to offer. I must get back to my Jake baby

My heart really goes out to you. This is just going to be a really hard and sad day for you. I can't even imagine the pain you are feeling. You're in my thoughts today as you deal with this difficult situation. What wonderful dogs these are to fill us with such love and devotion. And remember, one day you will see Jake again, and he will again be in his prime, waiting for you at the Bridge.
Take care,
Genie

I feel so sorry for you. It is just so difficult to knowingly let go of one who has loved you so much. Jake will be free of pain and have energy galore running at the Bridge while he waits for you.

No words really help much at this difficult time. Please take care.

I am so sorry for you. I don't even want to think of the day that I have to be in your shoes. I have two furbabies that I love more than anything. You can be comforted knowing that he has had the best dad a baby can ask for. Please know I will be thinking of you at this very hard time. :(

So sorry for what you are going through at this moment. Just let the tears flow. It will take time, but you will feel better. Jessie will fill the void in time. Just remember the wonderful 11 years that you were lucky to have shared with Jake. I lost my big boy at the age of 6 over a year ago. Trust me when I say... I know what your going through...my whole family went through.

I feel so very bad for you. I have been there more than once in my life with boxers. Take comfort in knowing you are doing the kindest thing you can for Jake. He will no longer suffer and will become whole again. He has a lot of company from BW at the bridge

I recently was sent this...........
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart
with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece
of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will
be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

It's just not fair that such beautiful souls have to return to Heaven long before we're ready to let them go.

I like to think that God gives our babies such a relatively short time with us because He can't bear to be parted from them either. They are on loan to us - and when they return to Heaven, they fly high and sure on wings that are made strong by the memory of our love for them.

Jake is in good company at the Bridge and you're in good company here as we share your tears.
