The best vacuum cleaner?

Hi guys, I performed a search but got nothing back...I would like to know if any of you have had huge sucess with any particulair vacuum cleaner for pet hair. As fellow boxer owners I'm sure you are aware of the abuse a vacuum takes, Miss KiKi can make a mess now let me tell ya! My vacuum blew up yesterday I guess a mix of Kia's hair the cat and Christmas tree needles was too much, plus my carpet in the townhome isn't of the highest quality. Anyway---I've heard that the Dyson DC14/Animal was great but it's rather expensive, please let me know if any of you have this one or other superb buys! Thanks!!!

The Dyson Animal claims to be the best, for maintaining suction power no matter how much is collected in it's barrel and for having a special attachment to pick up pet hairs...

But get ready to pay $500 for it,.... we haven't made that kind of a sacrafice yet for a vaccum.

This is true. My brother has one, he has cats, and he loves it. I'm going to make the sacrifice with my XMas Bonus if it'll spread that far...

I would love to try the Dyson Animal vacuum...my little ol' cheap Hoover doesn't really do an adequate job. You can go over the floor several times and you can still find hair if you get down and inspect it.

I too have the Dyson and its wonderful. I love it. There was a thread on Dyson. Do a search on Dyson and you should find it. It was in the Chit Chat area. Hope that helps... :)

This is exactly what I have been experiencing, and in 6 months I am using another old beat up one that has lost all suction! I'm done with that, I think I am going to break down and put the $$ in a good one that will last. I checked online and Best Buy has it for 4 something---better that Dyson.com at $559. Keep the ideas coming---thanks! Miss Kia thanks you too, becasue she loves to roll all over the floor after her bath or coming in from the rain!

I have an Electrolux, and they are pricey, too, but I like vacuums with bags, not the bagless kind. And I like canister vacuums, not upright ones.

I recently purchased a Dyson and I love it! I had an Electrolux before it and a Hoover upright before that. Dyson blows them both away! I got mine at Bed, Bath & Beyond and even though my 20% off coupon specifically said "may not be used on dyson", they took it anyway!

Dyson Animal All The Way!!!

I just got the Animal Dyson and got it out to test it worked before it goes away for christmas, it was present off my boyfriend, the best christmas present ever I must say. I love it, really powerful lifts the pile up instead of just going over it, great for the evil stairs. An expensive vacuum but worth it for the fact its Dyson, has to be one of the best vacuums around!!
