Tempur-Pedic Matress

My waterbed sprung a leak. I have been sleeping on a waterbed for 20+ years. DH has been trying to get me to change to a "normal" bed forever. This past weekend I caved and we went mattress/bed shopping.

The only thing that we could both agree on was the Tempur-Pedic beds. We found one that you can buy that will actually fit into the frame of our waterbed. It's on order and will be delivered next week. For the time being I am sleeping on one of the twins from the motorhome on the family room floor and hubby is making an attempt to sleep on the couch.

Both of us are not sleeping well and waking up stiff and sore. I sure hope this tempur one is as good as they are touted to be.

Does anyone have one??? I hope I didn't waste my money!~

I don't have one but a friend does. He has a very bad back and its the only mattress he's found that he can actually get out of bed without having to crawl out in the mornings. It takes a while to get used to but I think you'll like it. My friends dog took a while to get used to it too.

I'm really interested in the Tempur-Pedic too. It's time for DH and I to get a new mattress and he has a bad back. I looked up some reviews for the memory foam mattress and didn't get very good feedback. It seems quite a few complained that after laying on the mattress for a short while, the foam didn't rise all the way back up. It left valleys. When they called and complained, the company said the valleys had to be 2 inches deep for them to do anything about it. They also said that it's normal to have valleys in the foam, that don't raise back up, if you sleep in one position the majority of the time. I might be able to understand that for an extended period of time but not for just a couple of months. However, I believe that company was Simmons and not all of them are probably like that. It was hard for me to find reviews by Tempur-Pedic but I do remember hearing some good reviews. Now I'm hesitant and wonder if I should just go with a pillow-top mattress. Wish there was a way I could test them out, without throwing the hundreds of dollars at them. Let us know how you get on with the Tempur-Pedic.

If you're going to buy one ,buy TempurPedic. There are a lot of look alikes available for less money but its a lesser product also.

I was considering one and learned that in the winter they can get quite hard if you keep your house on the cool side which I do. I ended up with the Select Comfort knock off, Comfortaire, and couldn't be happier. Let us know what you think. I slept on a waterbed for about ten years and I am so glad to not have to deal with that anymore.

I slept on a water bed for nearly 30 years. I gave it up when I moved to KY, and didn't want to move the bed. When I went to buy the new bed, I did a lot of research on the different types and almost bought a memory foam. Before I did, I found a self adjusting mattress, or SAM. I looked into it and talked to a few people before deciding on that one. It has air channels through it and the firmness can be adjusted. I also have a bad back, so I opted for the adjustable bed. I love it! Maddie doesn't like the vibration when that's turned on. I also learned that this is the same brand of bed that Christopher Reeve slept on. -Jan
