It's a great little town. I really miss it. So your friends stuck around after graduation?

Yup! It sucks. The whole family is not out there. Mom and Dad own an apple orchard in Nolensville.

My kids compete in soccer against Jackson Christian School.

WOW! What a small world it is. I don't think we even had a soccer team when I was there. I remember us playing Scott's Hill in basketball when I was in school. We had to travel pretty far sometimes to play other private schools since there are only 3 in Jackson.

Wow! I really didn't expect anyone here to even know where Scotts Hill is! It is not exactly on the map... Besides that you can drive straight through and never see it if you blink!! We just started playing soccer here after the new high school building was completed. This will be our third season. I'm just so proud that they finished the school in time for my daughter to start her Freshman year there.

LOL Oh, how to explain... Our mascot is the Hokie bird - he was modeled after a big turkey, but he is so much more. The word Hokie, which is a nonsense word coined in the 1890's as part of a "new school yell", refers to all fans, students, alumni, and of course the sports teams of Virginia Tech. I guess I'd have to say look up the word in google or go to the school's website - we love our Hokie bird and our Hokies!!

Santa Cruz Banana Slugs?? :confused: What were they thinking?? That has got to be one of the worst mascots I've ever heard of!

Wait - now I'm curious - other bad mascots?

Scottsdale Community College Artichokes (yes - artichokes!) LOL Oh, I could play on the internet all day - these are funny.
