I've been wondering about the swiping too. But my dog does it at random times and then just goes about her business like nothing happened. She only does it maybe a couple times a month though. I'd say about half of the time it's after eating or drinking. It doesn't bother me at all, I'm just curious as to why she does that.

I get that talking back too. Oh boy what am I in for? LOL. She is only 13 wks.
And talking back already?

In our puppy class there is a small australian shepherd that does this. She is very very anxious and scared of the other dogs. It seems like a display to the other dogs to say 'don't even think about coming over here'. Is your dog lacking in confidence and trying to fear display, do you think?
It is VERY different behaviour than the kicking backwards after eliminating.

Elvis only used to do this after a poo, but he does it everytime he has a wee now as well, and goes extra mad with the feet if a dog is in view!

Once when he done it after a poo i went to pick the poo up and nearly got it in for my face, it was a close call!
