I have two 10 week old littermates. I didn't realize that getting a littermate was not a good idea until after I had them but would never give one away. Guinness, the boy, has an issue with latching on when he bites. I'm trying to teach him bite inhibition and trying not get too frustrated. From reading on the forum about hitting pups, I am definitely not doing that either. He and Bailey were playing and wrestling hard. I bent over to pick up a toy to move it away from the couch and he jumped up and bit my nose hard. It was bleeding for over 10 minutes. I'm trying real hard not to get angry since I know they don't know what they are doing. I yelped and walked away to get a papertowel to stop the bleeding. I came back over and sat on the ground still crying in pain. Those puppy teeth are sharp! Bailey and Guinness both calmed completely down and came over without me calling them and sat on my lap and just sat there until I was ok. They were cuddling and licking my face going from complete hyper terrors, aka puppies, to the two biggest sweethearts ever. I guess they can really sense human emotion. I am so happy to have them!

Keep a supply of dog toys around the house, when they go to nip say 'no bite' & quickly give them a toy, they soon learn toys are much more exciting!

When pups were rough playing it was just excitment on their part & their attention span at that age is seconds. Best rule is, as you learnt, dont bend over them when rough playing or if you do, hold out a toy so you are at arms length from them

They sound gorgeous! Puppy days pass all too quickly!

First off, OUCH! Secondly, Awww! Whether you meant to or not, yelping and walking away is the best way to teach them not to bite. Puppies don't speak english, or any other human language, so you have to teach them in "puppy". I, too, have had my nose bit. Last month as a matter of fact, by someone else's puppy. The "puppy parents" were mortified, me I just took in stride. Just like a small child they will take time to learn. Also take time to train them seperately so you can have their full attention while training. You'll get there, or rather they'll get there.

i know exactly what you're going through as we're going through this with our 8 1/2 week old right now. it is frustrating, but we just have to be persistent and patient. when thora bites hard i yelp loud "ouch!" and then give her a stern "no biting" and immediately put a toy in her mouth and walk away. my tuff had a much softer mouth and never really bit hard, so this is a little new for me too.
