Glad you got it checked - what I thought was allergies (because she always had allergies to pollens) in our older boxer (Tess, now waiting at the bridge angelicon) turned out to be gluacoma, which permanently blinded her in one eye. Fortunately, meds controlled the pressure in the other eye. It was very itchy, to the point she was grinding her face into anything soft she could find, and looked something like your guy.

My Dixie's eye looked like that with an ulcer as well. It took a good 6 weeks or longer to heal. We had a weekly visit to a Vet Opthamologist. Don't get discouraged, it does take a while to heal.

Glad to hear it's not anything too serious! It's so painful to see their eyes that way. I felt so bad for my poor Marley. She was battling cancer and had ulcerations in both of her eyes. Just try to be patient with the healing process. I was at the vets office every two weeks. At first her's got worse with the meds and I was really worried. Then all of a sudden a couple months later they were healed. Good luck!

Eye lid drop/ red eyes

You have access in the bay area to the world's most awesome veterinarian.
Dr. Cheryl Schwartz. She will be able to help you, for certain.
You may check out her website and book, 4 Paws, 5 Directions.

Best luck!

The Corneal Ulcer is treated nicely

Thanks everybody.
I just have to say doctors are weird. First about the arrogant one who insisted on antibiotics which I immediately stopped after the cataract appeared. Both his eyes are not charging any mucus any more. The one with the ulcer that had the worse trouble is still a bit pink but both are good and antibiotic free.

Then the other one the specialist ophthalmologist who thought that boxer ulcers dont heal. Well you should see her surprise. I should take a video. Oh! It healed! I dont know what to think.

I just read an article saying also that intact dogs heal much faster. Could that be it? I dont know. Wow... my dogs are 8 and 7 and I havent stopped fighting for their rights in health since ever.... I really need to find a doctor I can trust. After I find a job... As I said its the first time in my life I'm without a job and I have to rely only on web sites. Ha ha I have spent most of my savings for them since I arrived here.......

Oh well....

Thanks EVERYONE for your replies.... Its such a relief...
