Boxer Pal
My baby girl got out of our fenced in yard last weekend, Saturday March 27, 2010. We are 100% positive that someone stole her. If anyone that lives in the central Ohio area and sees a fawn female boxer with black mask, please let me know. If anyone knows ways of getting her home, please let me know...Thank you

She is about 50 lbs. Fawn with a black mask, white stripe down her nose. White half collar that goes around her right side of her neck. White chest and her one front leg is over half white.

She is a very sweet girl, will go up to any person as long as she is not afraid. She tends to be slightly aggresive towards other dogs (at least when i am around, she hasn't been around other dogs without me around so i don't know how she would be when mommy is gone)
We have a male boxer that is devasted without her. If anyone has any help for me, I would greatly appreciate it!! Thank you to all

If you post a picture, I can send it out to my rescue contacts in OH. Has she been micro-chipped?

Be sure to contact every shelter within a distance of 25-30 miles. Keep contacting them regularly so they keep you in mind in case a boxer shows up.

Post flyers everywhere you can think of and try internet sites like Craigs list. Our rescue recently took a dog in from a shelter and one of our volunteers found the lost dog posting there the next day.

Contact the vet offices in your area, too. If someone shows up with a new dog matching your girl's description, they may be able to help.

File a police report in case they receive a call about a found dog or an agressive loose dog.

Your local boxer rescue may be willing to help organize a search day, too.

I hope you find her soon...

If you are in Franklin County (Columbus, Ohio or suburbs) you need to GO TO THE Franklin County SHELTER.....every single day. There are multiple other shelters in the area as well. Citizens for Human Action (CHA-near Westerville), Capital Area Humane Society, etc....
Calling daily will not help.
Trust me I have dealt with Franklin County too many times to count in my work with rescue.
They have too many people in and out of there on a daily basis (employees and volunteers). No one person is going to know what dogs came in or when.
You have to physically go there with a picture and also ASK TO SEE the Boxers they have in.
After 72 hours if no owner has come forward the dogs are available for adoption.....or a rescue can come and get them.
Place an ad on Craig's List as well as the Pet FBI website.
Put a LARGE sign up in YOUR front yard as well as at every pet store in your area (if someone found your dog they may need to go buy food for it).
If you can give me cross roads or major intersection or even a neighborhood of your location I will put out an e-mail to a pet sitting group that I am a member of. All local sitters out DRIVING every day all over the area. We are quite good at spotting dogs!
Call any police department that is near you. Sometimes people call the police when they spot a "stray" dog. They will in turn call animal control.
If you are near a bordering county CALL that shelter too...
Go to vets offices and put up signs and anywhere else you can think of. Grocery stores, beauty salons, pizza shops, gas stations, etc...Anywhere there is a lot of foot traffic.

Signs work !

signs WORK !!

My daughters 2.5 LBS min doberman got out of my moms fenced yard ( daughter ( 15 ) ran in to grab her cell ) came back out - puppy gone ~ we posted signs EVERYWHERE !grocery store - gas station - drug store- .... 5 days later got a call , lady a few streets down had him camped out under her old truck - wouldn't come out.
my daughter walked up , was like a streak of lightening into her arms !

( it was winter and 15 degrees - he wouldn't eat ( she tried to feed him ) and had no heat ! )

SIGNS WORK !!!!! ( we also figured he had been stolen ! )

our family's prayers are with u - we know what its like to loose a member ! just keep looking ! and never give up hope !

I am in Columbus and will be on the look out.
I agree with the idea to contact police & look daily at the dog shelters.
FYI- I took Sam to the vets last Sat & there was a lot of notices about stolen dogs- a boxer, bulldog & a few labs as well.
