Super Boxer
Koda wasn't eating when we first got him either, I was so worried. When I went to Petsmart they gave me a few suggestions. I missed how old your boxer is?

We were told to moisten his food with some warm water, maybe the hard food was still kind of "rough" on him. Then they showed us this stuff called Vita Gravey. You just add a couple of squirts into the food and it gives them some flavor.

We did this and he started eating. We went through the vita gravey rather quickly because our dalmatian wanted some tasty stuff also. So once that ONE bottle was gone (about a week), I just started moistening his food, then after about another week of that I only did it about every other time, and after that week he was eating his normal dry kibbles.

Also to let you know, I was in there shortly after he was eating his dry kibbles and I was explaining my situation with someone else who's dog wasn't eating and someone else that worked there said it was a mistake to put the Vita gravey in his food, I was teaching him to be a picky eater.

But it worked and now he eats his plain ole kibbles. And like they said, they won't starve themselves. I just didn't like the thought of him not eating for a day or even two. Just a suggestion..

Good Luck,
Jeanette

Finally, Something to Laugh About

come on everybody!!!!

We all know that one of the characteristics of boxers is farting!!!!!! I feed my animals Purina Hi Pro Lamb and Rice, but no matter what I feed them they will get on a farting binge. It is a boxer characteristic, I am really sorry, but I find it hysterical!!!!!! Rusty is the worst farter in the group, basically because he has spastic colon, and has to pass gas to relieve the pressure. He will get up on the bed with me, lay side by side with me, with his butt near my face, and pass gas!!!!! Sorry, I know that is really gross, but I am used to it!!!! Every one that I know, who owns a boxer or a bull dog, will talk about how much the animals fart. Look up on boxer characteristics, and also in the poems section, there you will see comments or poems relating to farting. Yes, I know it is improper, but you will have to tell your guests ahead of time that your dog is a GAS!!!!!

Have you tried to mix some other food in with the Pedigree? If you do just alittle at each feeding she probably won't even notice it's in there and then you can gradually keep adding more but it might take awhile if she's being that picky. I'd buy just a small bag of better food to see if it works. Good luck, my Jade is picky about her treats, which of course is better than the food.

Both of my pups are on pedigree they do pass gas at times but not alot and its not really stinky either... i would get a better grade of food if they sold it around here.. i am in a rural area and would have to drive about 2-4 hrs to even find a place with the more expensive foods... so i guess i will have to stick with pedigree i do give an extra vitamin supplement to mine though so maybe thats why they dont have the stinkies .. good luck

i give Nitro some plain yogurt and it helped a lot. i know he still farts a lot but since i can't hear or smell it im ok with that lol. anyway last month i decided to stop giving Nitro the yogurt since he's stating to gain to much weight (i think). well he's 62 lbs now and he's only 9 months old so i stop the yogurt hoping that it will slow down his growth. anyway after 4 days of non stop farting from Nitro i finally gave up since i can't handle nostril burning gas that he passes all day so he's back to plain yogurt lol.

I normally feed Evie & Adam Nutro Natural Lamb & Rice. HOWEVER.... when my brother stays and brings his dog, I pay Heck-o-la trying to keep the Pedigree away from them!! We usually feed the other dog outside in the dog run, so my pups dont eat his food. One time I caught Evie bitting the fencing trying to get to the Pedigree!! They did manage to get some of the Pedigree and BOY! did it give them BOTH the runs and the stinks! :( I vote its probably the food too :)

Also, the yogurt really does help!! And the pups love it!! :)
