stinky collar

We got Lemmy a new lupine adjustable a few weeks ago. And of course it's already dingy and stinky. Any tips on how to wash and de-stink it?

I throw mine and my running shoes into the washing machine periodically. I usually put the collars in a lingerie bag to keep the metal from banging around in the machine. I air dry them.

I put the collars and leads in the washing machine tied inside a pillow case every fortnight.
