I have a very sensitive nose and the thought of walking into a house that reeks of "dog" gives me nightmares. So, that being said I probably bathe my girl more than necessary, once per month if she needs it or not.

Since we have been taking her to the dog park this summer I have noticed that my girl smells like a rose compared to the majority of the other dogs. I can't believe that people can be in the same room with some of these dogs, much less allow them to sleep with them.

Well, after giving such high praise to Cami for not really being stinky I realized I spoke too soon. After returning from the park last night I smelled her when she walked by me. She must have gotten a little too close to a stinky dog because she was rank! After a bath she again smells like my wonderful girl.

Has anyone ever noticed that other peoples dogs smell really bad?? Or is it just my imagination?

LOL its not your imagination. I cant stand the smell of other peoples dirty dogs. They are usually really greasy too. Im sure they never wash them! Then again I dont think a lot of people here let their dogs into the house, let alone sleep with them.

I bath Lily whenever she needs it, which is alot seeing as its winter here, but it usually ends up about once or twice a week because she likes to roll in the mud :o Then other times its once every month.

I love the smell and feel of her freshly bathed :D

Tuggy gets a bath once a month whether he needs it or now. Sometimes after a runaround at the dog park, he gets a spot-bath.

I do foster care, and I ALWAYS bath them when they come into the house. They almost always smell nasty!

Before I got Stormie, we were a "no doggie zone home", we only had fish. I can't stand the smell of "dogs" in a house (the stinky smell). My best friend adopted 2 dogs from one of my neighbors about 6 years ago and immediately the warm fuzzy feeling of going to her house was changed. I love her and her family to death, but the house often stunk of sweaty dog! I have to admit, it was gross!
I am really glad that boxers don't have a real "thick" dog stink, I think the short hair helps a lot. I know we can easily get adapted to the "scent" of our own home and I really hope my house doesn't have the "dog" smell. Yikes.
I bathe Stormie often too, she loves to dig and play in her pool; water + dirt = muddy doggie! :)

I'll admit I dont bathe Titan very much, mainly because he hates the water so much that it's a fight to get him in the shower to bathe him. Usually I end up knocked to the floor, and afterward he goes and rolls in the dirt which made the bath useless. But I use the bath wipes every week on him, and they seem to keep him smelling fresh and clean.

I too hate going into doggy-smelling homes. So I have the plug-in air freshners in every electrical outlet in our living room (where the dogs mainly are) and some in the kitchen and main hall. It costs me over $20 a month in air freshner refills, but I dont mind long as it works and keeps the smells down. I should really invest in the Air Wick company, I think I keep their "lavender" scent in business!!

Boxers aren't stinky like some but I think the truth is your nose becomes desensitised just like how everyone thinks their kids are really cute and how if we took a good long look in the mirror it might be a shock... That said - of course my boy smells like a flower and is the bestest and most handsomest dog ever:)

I don't find boxers are smelly dogs at all - probably because their coats are so short. With all the shedding they probably just shed the dirt out LOL.

My guys don't get bathed very often. They do get their faces and paws washed quite frequently though. For the most part, I find wiping them down with a damp towel freshens them up. I also use plug-ins and the like in the house and never once has anyone commented on smelling anything other than the scent of plug in.
