It's been almost 3 months now, since I lost Harley. I still cry, at least, every other day. I miss him so deeply, that even a happy thought of him can drive me to tears. I've been reading everyone's posts about how "each day is getting better/easier". And I thought I'd start to feel that way, but I havent. I thought by now, I would remember all the good times w/ him and they would make me smile. And while I do remember all the good times and I do smile, I still cry and get upset. I never in a million years thought I'd be THIS UPSET for this long. I figured after a few months, it would get better. And now with a new season upon us, and being outside in the yard and enjoying the weather........it's just so empty w/out Harley. I look around the yard and wait to see him come out from behind the garage..........or to see him laying on the patio in the sun...........and I get upset just knowing that's not gonna happen. I just want to feel better already. Has it taken anyone else this long to move on? I feel so silly. Maybe Im looking for some kind of closure. I dunno?

I am so very sorry about your lost. I haven't gone through this yet - but I can imagine it would take me a very very long time to heal too. I think everyone has to go through grief on thier own time limit....and I know for me...sometimes I have to give up and cry my eyes out before the clouds go away.

My prayers are with you during this long difficult time...

I can imagine you're missing Harley terribly, just give yourself time, and don't be too hard on yourself,we all know how much you loved your Harley.
Hugs from Waldo and me.

Sorry you are still feeling this way it took me a year to look or think about Willy without crying then I felt guilty because I wasn't. Everyone is different and grieves in their own terms, in my case I had to get another dog It didn't take my love away from Willy it just opened my heart to let more love in. I can't live without one now I have two so I don't have to be without one ever.

I know how you feel. I lost Emma in early January and I still get misty eyed whenever I think about her, even remembering the good times. I'm still sad that she is gone, but it hurts less now that we have Edie. We rescued her a little over a month after Emma left us. She has made all the difference in the world to me. I still miss my Emma, but I have someone else here now that I can love and who loves me. I remember you thinking about getting another baby in spring, are you still considering it? Maybe that would help the hurting a little. I found I needed to take care of someone, even my family has noticed a difference in me. Hang in there, it really does get better.

luvmrhead, I posted pictures of Edie on the forum yesterday. Check her out, you will see why I needed her in my life. The house just wasn't the same without a boxer in charge!

My heart goes out to you, and I'm sorry you are having a hard time. I can truly understand that you miss Harley so much, he was your boy. I hope you will soon be feeling better - I keep you in my thoughts. Hugs.

So so sorry for your loss. You need to mourn and heal in your own time and that is different for everyone. I lost my sweet girl over a year ago and even though it is better I still miss her terribly and things will set me off crying. So even though it gets better we all still have those awful days that break your heart all over again. Time will help though and I found that first year to be the worst. I hope you can reflect on the warm memories soon and feel more comfort than pain. Sending you gentle boxer wiggles. Harley is a boxer angel doing boxer burns wtih my girl and all the boxer angels. Take care of yourself angelicon

Everyone handles the situation differently. Losing Rocky after a year battle with cancer was one of the hardests thing I have done in my life of course I cried tears for the past year. I took off work 3 days after losing him and cryed most of those days. Hubby and I agreed we couldn't live without another boxer. We knew no other boxer could ever replace the love we had for Rocky but we knew we needed the love of a boxer in our lives. We have a 11 week old Addy in our lives. At first I felt a bit guilty getting another boxer so soon but everyone on here assurred me that Rocky would be well pleased. We had named Rocky after the movie so from a suggestion from one of the members on here of Adrian and call her Addy in memory of Rocky. She is NOTHING like our Rocky but she has already filled the empty hole in our hearts. We still have trouble talking about our Rocky without a tears appearing...like right now. She loves to snuggle and do the wiggle and right now she is watching me....life is too short not to feel the love a boxer gives us. May you find comfort in all the love you gave your baby and take one day at a time...hang in there!

I am going 5 years without Jasmine. The tears are gone but the emptiness is there. Have you thought of another dog. Not as a replacent but someone to love. You obviously have a lot of love to give and some lucky pup could use a good mom. Again it doesn't replace or deminish your loss but it does help you push on.
