It's a glorious day here today - blue sky and it's actually warm - lovely heat from the sun :) Looks like spring has officially arrived at last.

I'm looking forward to being in my garden and seeing everything starting to grow & flower, driving our Fiat X1/9 with the roof off, being woken up by the birds chattering away in the morning, lying in the grass and watching the swallows darting overhead and having all the windows in the house open with a gentle breeze blowing in.

Apart from the obvious things like it not being cold - what do you look forward to doing in the summer months?

Things I look forward to in the summer..............
Well firstly having the summer off work (work in a school) then being at home and catching up on all the jobs I don't have time for while working (boring but true).
Then the obvious things like being at home with my babies (skin & fur), the SUN, heat, birds tweeting, long days where you can happily be gardening at 8.30pm still, bbq's, salads, wearing shorts & t shirts.

The down side of summer for me is the dreaded hayfever and bee's & wasps, I'm absolutely petrified of them and I'm a flapper I'm afraid. No matter how many times people say 'Sit still and they won't sting you' I can't do it :(

Yes I was saying that last week when it was up in the lower 80's, then I wake up today and the highs for today and the rest of the week/end are only in the 50's :( But I should be used to it, this is good ol' Oklahoma, USA after all!!

I look forward to spending every weekend at the lake. We practically live there in the summer. And since I don't have my home daycare anymore, the kids and I will probably go camp out for a week and make Dh commute back and forth to work. evilicon

I am so jealous of all of you!! First of all, I dont get summers off, I have to sit in an office all day long without even a window to see outside. Second, yesterday here in Michigan it was nice, 70 degrees, and was the same way most of the weekend. Then, BAM, today it is 30 degrees, windy, and snowing!!! How can we go from one extreme to another so fast???
In the summer, I look forward to bbq's with the family, going to my cottage on the lake and jet skiing and spending time with my family. I am specifically looking forward this year to learning how to gold. Dbf has promised to teach me. I am a little scared, as I dont have very good hand-eye coordination :D

We had 80's over the weekend. Yesterday morning, I had my windows opened. This morning we had to turn on the furnace! 28 degrees with 20 mile an hour wind and snow flurries.

The saying goes, if you don't like the weather in Indiana, wait a day and it will change!

 Oh my! Here in Wisconsin we like to think we coined that term! You're sooooo right though. I was bragging to my aunt the other day about the lovely daffodils blooming all over my yard, well I'm being punished now. The wind beat the stuffing out of them yesterday and we are expecting a hard freeze tonight, sob.

Looking forward to spring...to me it means playing in the gardens, planting and transplanting, with Indy's kind assistance of course!
