In my opinion, I believe boxers are mistaken for another breed. And I know there have been discussions on the board about this. But, it's true. I get it all the time. And it is the uneducated people who do not know the difference that create the fear. The breed is in danger of getting an unfavorable mark in with the public because of ignorant people, more so to ill breeding. Until there is a law to assist in the shut down of BYBers I don't think that is going to change.

I agree with you... A lot of people easily mistaken boxer to other breed especially with pitbull and sometime american bulldog... I even had a lady told me "Oh i thought boston terriers are black"... So i looked around and didn't see any dog around so i just told her "Yeah he's kinda rare. I got him imported from Netherlands" then i just walk away and started laughing when i get into my car...

anyway any boston terrier owners in here??? i've seen black and brindle boston terrier but im not sure about fawn... im just curious that's all...

We have been considering getting spiked collars for our boxers every since we got them so we visited a friend of ours' website at www.pitdawg.com and reviewed what he has available. The collars shown on his site were a little bit wider than what we were looking for so we called him. He will actually custom make a collar for you at almost any width and in many different styles, even making some that are not overbaring. He is also very reasonably priced and uses a very good quality of leather. After looking around at local pet stores, we haven't been able to find anything that compares to what he has available, not only in price but quality as well. If you are interested in speaking with him directly, there is a phone number listed on his website. Our dogs are pretty much our children so they are obviously very spoiled. But they bring such joy to us! We drive almost 1 1/2 hours on Saturdays just to take them to the dog park so they can socialize with the many other boxers that they have come to know. (We enjoy visiting with the owners of the boxers just as much as our boxers enjoy playing with the others!) LOL!
