spiked/studded collars opinion

I was thinking the same thing. My boyfriend's brother & mother both have boxers and they each have the studded collars. Were going to get Luke one too. I do really like the look of them. I think once people see how friendly the dog is they would reconsider. Its prob more of just a stereotype than anything.

i think the general public, because they are sooo very UNeducated/ stereotypical will think your baby is big and scary. especially since boxers are bigger dogs, i think a thick, spiked collar, like the kind i've seen on many pits, will add to the intimidation factor. personally, if i liked the look, i would get what i wanted. who cares what the ignorant think... we have a smaller spike collar for our little Nikki (Cassius old collar), she sports it sometimes.. but when she does, everyone thinks shes a little boy, even with PINK eartape! oh well..

Cassius and Nikita are both beautiful, love the Grrrrrrrrrrrr Pic. I'm dying to get a fawn and a brindle boxer. I'd then have all three flavors of Boxers, then again I'd have to find a place for all of us to live as my wife would kick us all out if I came home with two more pups.SoleilBxrs said:

If you like the look, why not. It is not about other people it is about you and what your babies and what you think looks good.
Regardless of what collar I have on my babies people feel intimidation. I can have a collar with cartoon characters or funny faces and they will still think my babies look mean. SoleilBxrs is right, those who feel this way are uneducated and act as such.

I really like the spiked collars too. I think Sam would look really cool in one, and I am going to go get him one today. Right now he has on a choke chain, but it's for looks only (and to hold his rabies tag).
The Harley Davidson collars at PetsMart are really nice though expensive.

Years ago I had a rottweiler that was really, really friendly - a big ole baby. He had a spiked collar. My little cousin was about 4 years old at the time and when the collar was on the dog, he wouldn't have anything to do with him. But when I took the collar off, he loved the dog. The collar scared him.
But, again - I love them and think I'll run and get one for Buster!

If you like the look of the studded/spiked collar, then get one for your boxer. It doesn't matter if others like it or not. I've recently thought about getting one for Samson. Not to wear everyday, just when I take him somewhere. Why? Because I like the way they look
