Hi everyone!

I just joined this board today because we are in the process of being looked at for a boxer rescue from FBR. I'm excited to say the least! This Saturday is our home visit with Claire and hopefully all will go well and I'll be able to bring a new baby home to join our family soon. Our goal is to have the pup by Oct. 11th for my birthday!

I look forward to finding out tons of wonderful information and sharing our experiences as time goes on!

Hello, I am soo glad you are rescuing a boxer!! I have a 6 month old and I am in Tampa. I have family in Orlando and I go there at least twice a month. If there's anything I can help out with.. just let me know.. Best of luck with your new found love..

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. I'll keep everyone posted as I go through this process. Oh and as far as Tampa goes, looks like that's the way we're going to be headed to look at 3 different dogs if the app goes through alright.

Anyone know specifically what they look for in the home visit? I'm pretty nervous about it to be honest.

And congratulations on your decision to adopt. I adopted both of my 'kids' thru FBR. They are a wonderful organization and just overall great people to work with . Home visits are really nothing to stress about. Your volunteer will want to meet the members of your family (and any pets you have), see what the dog's living arrangements will be...where he/she will sleep, how/where the dog will be exercised ,etc. Its basically just a means to verify the info you gave on your application.

Yay!!!!

We just finished with the home visit and we've been approved! Now we are waiting on two people to call so we can visit the dogs and we're about to be off to the rescue kennel in a few minutes!!!
