Good morning to everyone (we slept in late)!

Asia is okay today ... still taking it slow. This morning we were outside walking and she heard chains ringing (usually means Josie), but it was another dog. I felt so bad because the other dog was looking at her like he wanted to play, but I knew she couldn't!

I haven't gotten any calls from the Vet about more referrels for Asia, but if he doesn't call by noon, I plan on calling his office. This is still just all so surreal.

We snuggled a lot with Asia last night and this morning, so I know she's feeling really loved right now! We are just going to take things one day at a time, and taking nothing for granted. I have been reading up on this disease and almost everything I have seen says something about 'sudden death, especially in Boxers'. That is kind of scaring us, but we will get through it. Mark keeps reminding me that we need to be strong for Asia...and we will, yesterday was just really hard on the both of us!

Momstaxi - Thanks for the interpretation of 'wnl', I was scared that it meant something bad! I looked up 'BAR' and I found that it said 'Bright, Alert & Responsive' so I am guessing that is what it meant on her wrap sheet? I hope!

I'll update whenever I get news from the Vet! Thank you all so much for your concerns - you guys make this place truly a big help! :)

Man, right as I was pressing the 'Submit Reply' button, Banfield called me. But, not the Denton Banfield (that we went to yesterday), I regular Banfield in Denton. We were told that she is due for a Comp exam and a Giardia vaccine. I told the nurse about our experience yesterday and we decided that we are going to go see Dr. Moore (our regular Doctor) to get a second opinion, while the Comp exam is in progress.

So, that gave me the idea to go ahead and call Dr. Zoltner (at Denton Banfield). He told me that he didn't know what the confusion was yesterday, but Asia is not "too young" to go to the Animal Diagnostic Clinic and they already have all of her information (XRays, EC/KG <-- which letter is it?). 'Dr. Pickens' is the one we will be seeing and she is out of her office today, so if she doesn't call by Thursday, I am advised to call Dr. Zoltner back.

The waiting period of this is hard, really hard. I wish we could go today and get in and see what's wrong and what we have to do about it, and get out of there and get her on medications! All in one day would be nice ... my worries might be a bit lessened ... but that would be too easy! ;)

So, sometime within the next week, we will be seeing Dr. Pickens in Dallas for a suspected DCM in the sweetest Boxer ever. :(

Asia started whimpering just a second ago and it got me a little nervous but we figured it's because she wants to play, because soon after, she went and drug some toys out of her basket. Mark is playing with her at a much lower level than usual, but obviously that's not enough for her! Poor girl, she's probably so confused - they usually run around the house like two wild & crazy animals (yes, even Mark)!

Just keep those good vibes and prayers coming. I will probably be posting on here later again today to let you all know how she is doing! Again, thank you all so much for your concerns - ya'll are the best!

I do hope you hear from your vet soon, and he/she has set up an appointment with a vetinary cardiologist for Asia. Once you get all the tests complete and a definite diagnosis with proper treatment, you will feel so much better about Asia's chances of a normal life. You are already ahead because you know your baby has a problem. Many times there are no symptoms, except sudden death, as was the case with my 6 year old tortie cat.

Doesn't make it any easier I know. Pete sends your pretty girl a big boxer hug, and we'll keep all of you in our prayers.

Oh Haley I am so sorry for what you are going through. Asia is absolutely one of the cutest boxers I've ever seen and it breaks my heart to think of her being sick. Please try to keep positive thoughts until you know without a doubt there is something wrong. Hopefully this is all some sort of mistake and if not may Asia live a long happy life with proper medication and care. Just know we are thinking of you all and sending many get well wishes to sweet Asia! Heather and Bugzy
