Something Funny That I've Noticed

Ping does that too, especially when we go outside and run around and play and its a little chilly out.. it gets him all worked up and we run upstairs and he gets so excited because i tell him he's a good boy he kidney beans and wags his nub and grabs the closest toy to him and starts flinging it in the air and running after it. LMAO.. so silly! :D

My boxer Lc and Golden Ret. Buddy both do that. Its so funny. LC also has to take her toy with her whenever she goes outside to potty.

Our babies are so silly Pooh does that when dh comes home from work. All I have to say is Daddy's home and she runs for a toy beaning all the while.
Bownser starts "talking" to his daddy and Cissy is bent like a pretzel trying to stand still long enough to say hello. Dozer on the other hand,grabs a toy and runs to his crate,lays down and waits for daddy to take his work shoes off then comes out like a furry bullet. I get this even if I just step outside to get the mail It's so funny to watch them-I love my silly kids

my geramn shepherd Brandy does that ALL the time! she's done it since she was about a year old.. anything she can get in her mouth..usually a shoe but sometimes even a piece of paper. She does it so she won't nip you when you come in cuz shes so excited

That is a fairly typical behavior. It's a bribe.

Ava doesn't do it. Indy does, but only in one particular situation.

Indy came to live with us a year before Ava did. As a puppy, she got most of the attention from visitors. In an effort to get some attention for himself, Indy would greet them, but when Ava got the lion's share of attention, he'd scurry around, find what he deemed to be an appropriate offering, then return to the visitor, determinedly pushing it toward them.

It was a source of amusement to watch him hunting for just the right toy. At times, he'd tip over the toy basket to find just the right gift.

We are trying to teach Owen to do this!

If he doesn't get a toy when he is excited, he nips at fingers and pockets and jumps. Now we tell him to get his tugga, and we play tugga in stead of shouting "Off, Owen." "No, Owen." "OW!!" and "Owen, don't eat my pockets!"
