That's exactly the reason i have a padlock on my gate!!!! if it's not the delivery guy, it would be a neighborhood kid, or the meter reader (the the meter reader throws the occassional temper tantrum over my lock )
A padlock sounds like a good idea for our gate.. that would fix our meter reader who doesn't even attempt to close the gate .
I had a good laugh over treats from heaven too! Have they learned to wait by the gate for packages??? Happy petco is straightening everything out for you :D
My gate, you can't even open from the outside. It looks just like the fence and you wouldn't even know that there was a gate there. It's a little inconvenient, but it's worth it.
Yep I have a lock on my gate. I had issues with kids getting into my backyard and leaving the gate open. So it's now locked up tight. I do have to call in my meter read every month but it's worth it not having to worry about someone getting in and getting hurt or my babies getting out. I feel for the family of the Weimaraner.
I'm sure my kids would have loved getting a package from "heaven", I could just seem them having a ball.
My parent's house has the meter inside the gate and when their dogs were alive they built an extra gate door inside the fence closing off the side of the house from the back yard. The inside gate was always pad-locked and was built 7 ft tall. They did this because the meter readers refused to come out due to the scary dog they had (an old silver faced boxer). When I moved into my new house this past May I was happy to see the meter was outside the gate, but I had already asked my Dad to build a new door inside just in case it was not. Just a thought for those of you who may have this problem. I wonder if Fed Ex would open a gate that has a "warning dog" sign on the gate.
