Sitting on top of you?

Ahh all of these stories are the story of my life! We always say that my oldest, Boston, thinks she's a poodle. She loves sitting in "her armchair", but if we have a full house and her chair and the couch are filled up, she will literally look at us as if she's saying "make room for me". She's 90 pounds and thinks she can just fit on a couch that is filled with people!

Ohhh yes.....they love to sit on you, lay on you, lean on you, it cracks me and my fiance up and some of the things they do.

And I couldn't agree more, they have no sense of personal space whatsoever! There are times I just look at them and say, SERIOUSLY. But wouldn't trade any of it for the world!!!!

LOL!!! Sounds like my household .....we have 3 boxers and they are always sitting on someone or each other!! As a matter of a fact as I write this I have one pretty much sitting on my lap and one of them curled up behind me on the couch!

Here is a photo of my oldest son and youngest boxer Rylee taking a "doggie" nap (I hope I'm posting the pix right?)....

Quick story behind how Rylee came to live w/ us ....my oldest son (in the photo) went to KS to visit his grandparents 2 summers ago and my brother had decided to get a boxer pup ...only he spent NO time w/ her at all and she wasn't getting the proper care so my son felt bad for her so Little Miss Rylee came back to NY to live w/ us at the age of 6 months old!!! Rylee is my sons girl ...she pouts and mopes around the house when my son is late getting home from school or stays over at a friends house and she of course has to sleep w/ him every nite!!

Glad to hear I'm not the only one being pushed, squashed, sat on, laid upon in my own bed! Brutus didn't used to be so bad. Seems like within the last year he's gotten worse. Nothing has changed around the house. It's just him and I. I woke up the other morning to him sleeping on my upper back between my shoulder blades. Took me a minute to figure out why I COULDN'T BREATHE! I've been waking up frequently to push him over, since I find myself without covers and hanging onto the mattress with one butt cheek! I love my boy dearly, but he's getting a little ridiculous. Either that or he's trying to kill me?! LOL

lap dogs

I have learned that whether they are puppys or fully grown, they do not know their sizes. Our two are not allowed on any furniture other then in the bedroom. At first I was against animals in the bed, until owning a boxer. They are deff a different breed, and become more lovable when something is wrong. Our male and female are different in the ways they approach getting attention.
Sugar, our female wants to be close and on our lap when she wants to be. If she is in her mood to be lovable, she crawls and lays all over us 24/7. If she wants to be around us, but doesn't want to be touched and we touch her, she flips out and pouts for a while.
Buddy, our male on the other hand is a big lazy teddy bear. He normally does his own thing and doesn't try to be a lap dog until we don't want him to be. He'll come and get on our laps like he is a little dog, but he usually stays for a short period of time.
I say this information, and forgot to say how jelous my babies are of each other. If one is getting attention, the other stops what they were doing and comes and pries their way right in the middle. They are deff. most like a lap dog at night time, and want to be right on top of us while we are sleeping. We have to trick these two so we are able to get comfortable before they come pile on top of us. It took me a while to learn to share the bed, they are also prone to be cover hogs!

So true, they have no idea they are too big for the lap or too heavy to be sitting on you. Brisco tries to squeeze in spots he cannot possibly fit, like the 5 inches between me and the the couch, so what does he do? He just turns and turns, gives up and then just sits on me. His most common spot is when I'm laying down in bed or on the couch on my side, he will curl up behind my legs, put his head over my leg and just go to sleep. He doesn't sleep with us at night usually (it gets too claustrophobic with him laying right on you!), but every morning at 6 am when my alarm starts going off, he gets up in bed and lays down on my legs, in his spot.
