He was a big and beautiful husky, and he was our Petey's best friend. He left yesterday for the Rainbow Bridge, just shy of his 13th birthday. In much pain, our dear friends helped him to a world free of pain to run again.

I have very fond memories of Sitka, Susan and Petey and I walking in the late afternoons from fall to spring. These two boys loved each other's company and the exercise. I imagine he was greeted at the Bridge by Pete, ready to run and play once again.

And Autry will miss him as well. In the last couple of months, Sitka, now slowed by age and arthritis, could manage to walk to our house. He loved seeing Autry, and, even tried to run a bit with him.

Godspeed Sitka.
