Grumpy is usually Grumps, the Grumpster, Gumpy, Guppy, you get the idea. For a long time she was Grumpy Bumpers, but then she broke out in hives and was covered in bumps for weeks, decided that name was bad luck! Now I think I will nickname her Healthy or Well-Behaved or something!

I had a boxer mix Mitch who died in August at the age of 11. He and his littermate sister were rescued from a horrible situation and lived with me since they were 5 months old. His nickname was Dorkdog. I know, a nickname longer than his real name. He was fawn and had white feet -- the white on one of his front legs went up to his elbow and the other leg just had white on his paw -- it looked like he had 1 sock up. He also had a severe underbite and his front teeth on the lower jaw were exposed. He was such a dork and I miss him terribly. His sister joined him in December -- I don't think I will ever get littermates again -- although they were so close and were so good together, it is just so hard when their genetics indicate that time is up.

On a happy note, my family adopted a 4 month old puppy on Friday -- she is a beautiful (everybody thinks their new addition is beautiful!) plain dark brindle love bug. Her name is Azuki (Japanese for the dark red bean that is used to make the sweet bean paste for desserts) although we usually shorten the name to Zuki.
