It's great to see that your future possible rescue is doing a home check, even though you're not able to foster. One, it's nice to meet someone face to face and another, the way you treat your dog, family and your home is probably the way that you'd treat other dogs and the public in general.
If you live like 'Sanford and Son' or keep your dog outdoors at all times, you probably won't be a good candidate to volunteer. Some people can look REALLY good on paper, but once you get to their house it's creepy.....you need to get out asap!!
You can get to know someone A LOT better in person than on the phone. Plus, another good reason is that if for some reason you are able to do an emergency foster or do an over night, they have already checked your home and they don't have to worry who is watching this pup.
I know that it may seem like a great ordeal to become a volunteer with a rescue, but I applaud your rescue for doing it's proper research on it's future volunteers!! appicon
