Should I even bother planting grass?

Grass?
I believe the previous post is where I refer to my new grass.
For a realistic look at a 2+ boxer yard, and a chuckle go to www.flbr.org and go to "breed info" at the top of the page.
There are many funny typical boxer scenarios and the yard is so typical!
I ended up sodding my yard because it is better than plain dirt and softer than rocks. My yards has some sod, some mulch, some concrete stepping stones, and some rock. I want the yard to be their own little dog park but I must fight the dirt and ruts as much as I can.;)
Right now I have the least dirt ever tracking onto to porch. That makes my mommy role a little nicer. But from what I have read grass doesn't last with multiple boxers. Maybe if you had acres, their running tracks would be spread out. I only have a 100X100 lot so there are favored tracks.

Maye this can help....

I have 2 large full grown energetic Boxers....my yard was ridiculously awfull... i tried everything keeping them off and letting them out in the front...and everything else...This grass seed is made for high traffic...it comes in a red bag its called Tuff Stuff...it says on the bag dog safe and is supposed to be used for yards with dogs....its a little pricey...its about 13$ for 300sf...but i got like 5 bags 3 would have done it...and sprinkled let the dogs out to push the dirt around let them inside....watered it for about 15 minutes a day right before i went to bed so it had time to dry before the dogs were let out in the morning...and in a matter of 4 days i saw sprouts....it was amazing....i have thick lush grass now and it has only been a month the dogs lay in it out in the sun and it keeps mud and dirt out of the house!!!!!:D

That website you posted was great - every potential Boxer puppy owner should be shown that site so that they know what they're getting into.

Another tip is to have your internal walls painted a darkish colour so that the slobber and goobers don't show up! the creamy wallpaper in my sitting room now has a lovely(?) 'dalmatian' effect!

We bought Tuff Stuff at Wal-Mart i don't know if you have one near you but if you dont have a Wal-Mart you can get it at Home Depot or any hardware store that has a big lawn section....its a small red bag it only does 300sq but it does the trick! Im VERY pleased with the results...HOPE YOU FIND IT:D

I am in the same boat, our yard is just all mud with the ocassional tuft of grass, its such an eye sore. I don't know what happened, we had grass last year when we moved in but between Finnegan and his foster brother Boris, over the last 3 months they have totally ripped it up while charging around the back yard. So I will be looking for that Tuff Stuff also. The hard part is that I will have to keep them out of the back yard while we wait for the grass to grow.

Oh yea, the tracks around my shed are definately the worst. They run in circles chasing each other and trying to be sneaky and double back and catch the other one. Deep ruts forming in the shed track....

And thank God Spring is coming, because my kitchen floor is constantly muddy with paw prints. Even if we try to wipe 8 little paws before coming in, barely helps...

Okay, that's pretty funny in a morbid sort of way.

Rio's still a pup and really doesn't care about the backyard unless I'm in it. And hey, I have so much shade back there that grass doesn't grow well anyway. If I had the money, I'd hire a landscaper to come up with a dog-friendly/nice-looking solution. Of course my yard is itty-bitty too, so...
