I just caught this thread. That is so sad, and the nerve of that woman to say your baby was fat??? Some people really shouldn't own pets. Keep us posted as to this poor baby.

I for sure think you are doing the right thing! If this lady can really look you in the face and flat out say her baby is not to thin then she need a reality check. I hope to god you get this dog (or someone else) before it is to late. Please keep us posted. This lady need a kick in the head!!!

Absolutely do not let on to this lady that you are turning her in. I just wish you didn't have to wait till next time you see her- that dog may not last that long from the looks of him. Please try to find out who she is and where she lives so animal control or whomever can go right out there. If you watch animal cops on animal planet and the ones that look that thin are at death's door according to them. I am not try to pick on yo, in fact I commend you for taking action when obviously no when else had the nerve or sense, but I am just concerned for this poor dog that he may collapse and then be beyond help.

A little bit of an update.


. Lucy is 8 months old, she is a little ribby and has bony little hips, and the woman actually said she looked FAT.

she would keel over if she saw chloe but its not funny i admire what you are doing, yo mentioned you will call animal control when you see her with the dog if you know where she lives or even the barn the dog hangs out in you can call and they will go there to look and im sure seize the dog. good luck.

I just caught this thread and am so glad that you have notified animal control. That poor baby needs immediate attention, so please don't hesitate to alert them the next time you see her at the track with her boxer. Do keep us posted. BTW, our Buster was that emaciated when we rescued him - hard to imagine that anyone could (mis)treat their companion animals that way ~ Cathy

I felt the way a few others have felt that my dogs have gotten thin before and when you mentioned the scratches mine have had those too from playing hard with each other... but I can not beleive this dog is out in the public like this... I cant believe she has not been turned in before..... This dog has to be on its last leg... Please keep us up dated on what happens... maybe talk to some of the other people that saw it so you have other witnesses,..

This woman has to be out of her mind! I can't imagine her not explaining why her dog looks the way he does whenever someone approaches. My father's boxer was attacked by a pack of dogs when he was a puppy and it left him with horrible scars all over his face and front legs. Every time someone new comes over, we introduce him as old scar face and tell them what happened. And when Tucker's allergies were out of control, I would always tell people first thing that my poor baby has allergies. I've always been so afraid people would think I wasn't taking good care of them. It sounds to me like this woman needs a serious lesson on dogs. So much so that I wish someone would give her a peek at the breed standards used for judging dog shows. Maybe then she would realize that the poor baby is extremely under weight. And why hasn't her vet done something? Or does she not take him to a vet? Oh, there's just so many things wrong with this story! Thank God you have stepped in to speak for this little baby who can't speak for himself. I just hope she doesn't figure something is up before the authorities can get him into a better home. Please keep us posted!

Thank God you can speak for that dog who can't speak for himself. I hope you get custody of him soon, or that he gets taken away from that woman and put in a home somewhere where he can get the food and love he so obviously needs.
