I just looked at Sascha's most recent photo and I don't even think you can compare her to the poor dog in the photo. That is just my opinion.
I agree, Sascha is lean and very muscular. This poor baby has no muscle, just skin and bones.

Oh my God, that is disgusting. That poor poor dog. He/She looks JUST like our Lucky-but about 20 pounds less. I wish I could take that poor dog away from it's awful owner.

The pics were just posted again and I highly doubt (but of course I could be wrong) your baby looked like that poor thing even when she did lose the weight.

Take a look at the pic's and see what you think?
Carol I did see the pic's it looks really bad

A little bit of an update.

I was out there today, and I took my Boxer because the weather was beautiful. I was standing rindside and the lady actually approached me and started talking to me about Lucy. Lucy is 8 months old, she is a little ribby and has bony little hips, and the woman actually said she looked FAT.
http://mygallery.cc/courtney/albums/lucy/3snow.jpg (does that look FAT? Goodness gracious no)

I slyly said if she thought Lucy was fat she should've seen the Boxer/Lab mix I had that was put down due to cancer. I waited for her to say something about her dog having a medical condition, because she said to me "You were petting my dog yesterday right?" so she knew I had seen him but she didn't. Then she says (I kid you not) "I like to keep my dog a little lean so his joints dont get stressed out. He was fat like yours as a puppy". I wanted to go off on her, but I didn't want to clue her in on the fact I was going to have animal control come try and seize the dog from her later this week, so I forced myself to nod and then said I had to go get lunch and walked off before she could see how red my face had gotten from wanting to deck her.

I talked to someone who boards with her and the dog has been with her since it was a puppy and continually started to look worse, apparently it goes to the barn all the time when the weather is nice and the other riders feed it when she isnt looking. She had no clue how it got all the scars and cuts all over it because the woman has been keeping it at home, inside, because it's too cold at the barn.

To whoever also takes their Boxer out to the horse farm, I take mine too and she runs for hours and she's a bit skinny but nothing like the poor boy in the photos I took.

I'm calling animal control out the instant I see her with the dog this week or weekend. If they take him from her, he'll probably be coming home with me, unless she somehow tries to get him back.

I'm so glad you're trying to help that poor boy. Beau is skinny, too (visible ribs, spine and tips of hips), but he's not even 2 yet and he's definitely not as skinny as that poor baby. No dog should look like that. I hope she gets what she deserves!

I'm so glad that you decided to call the authorities on this. Bailey does look underweight. Bless it's heart. Please keep us updated on the situation.

When I started to read this post I couldnt get the pictures up. The whole while I was reading everyones threads I am thinking how thin my TUG is now. I was thinking if any of you were to see her u would say the same about her. WELL, I finally got to the post with the new pictures and realized that TUG is not that thin. My boxers have all been on the thin side. BUT, they always have had good food to eat. And plenty of treats. I have never starved any of them, they are just lean and muscular dogs. Besides with TUG's ability to talk she lets me know when she needs more food. LOL.
I hope that this lady realizes she is too extreme with keeping her dog thin. I have to ask is she thin?
Good luck with your pursuits in helping this guy. He is handsome.

I looked at those photos and that dog is definatley too skinny. I think we have all had times when our puppies looked on the thin side but that is ludicrous. The follow up post about her keeping him on the "thin" side confirms that he is indieed abused. I can not imagine that it would be fun to pet the dog with all those bones poking out everywhere and I wouldn't be surprised if he got the scratches and such from trying to forage. I hope the authorities nail her. She clearly has psychological issues if she thinks that he is less than emaciated.

I just saw the pics, that poor baby. I vote for putting her in a harness and dragging her around after not feeding her enough for 3-4 years. He looks so sad. I'm so glad you saw him and had the courage to do something about it. Good luck and I hope the authorities do come and seize the dog.
