I've been anxiously waiting for an update and am so glad to hear that Bailey has finally been taken away from that neglectful owner. Good for you for following through with animal control appicon ~ Cathy

I couldn't see the pics but don't need to in order to clearly see that you saved Bailey's life. Being severely underweight leads to organ failure eventually! How on earth can this woman own animals and not know this???

What I want to know is - especially with this woman bringing her dog to shows and seeing lots of people - how many folks just turned a blind eye and didn't even try to help Bailey??? Thank God you came along, you are her angel!!

I too have followed this thread since the original post, but have yet to be brave enough to view the photos. I get the idea by everyone's reactions so no need to torment myself by looking at them. You might want to keep copies of the photos for future referance to this case if it were to go to court, plus if she were to treat a future dog the same way you can use that as proof that she isn't a fit owner. I want to say thank you for supporting Bailey and fighting so hard to give him a proper home where some people would have given up rather than the owner knowing who turned her in (and IMO who cares what she thinks). Maybe this lady will think twice about abusing an animal again and will change her ways. I think play dates are definately in order with Bailey and his new mom. If things don't work out then maybe she'd give you the first choice on taking him.

Im so happy you persued this to its fullest. Kudos to you, you should be very proud of yourself, you could potentially have saved this baby's life. Will animal control keep you updated on what happens with her (the woman)? or is it a done deal with you. I cant help but wonder why none of the other people from the horse stable wouldnt have called animal control on her when they obviously knew something was up if they were sneaking him some food. He'll be in a good home now with another boxer baby and will get spoiled like all boxers do

OMG I was able to see the pics now, and I am just SICKENED that this lady could say this is okay for any animal!!! That dog looks like it is at death's door, she is so emaciated. That is skinnier than many of the rescue pics I've seen where the dog can barely stand up or walk!!! Thank God you came along, you are truly a hero. NO DOUBT it saved this dog's life, because even if she hung on awhile, what a miserable life it must be, to be abused like that, malnourished and surely unhappy and hungry all the time... and I can't even think about it without getting furious at how people treat their animals. I'm just so glad you were in the right place and acted on this, you are an inspiration to others, and an angel to this dog!!

My boys play lots and gain/lose weight pretty easy based on their activty level over a few days and generally are very active and thus are lean. There are times that my youngest has his hips slightly visable and are over all lean BUT my boys look fatty-fat-fat compared to those pictures! There is one thing to keep dogs thin but that is starving-it looked like he had no muscle mass on his back and butt area!

I commend you on the action that you took...it takes guts!

WooWoo to you for DOING something! Those pictures were so horrible, the first time I saw them I had to close it quickly, how horrible for Bailey. I hope his remaining years are sweet and filled with love.

damn i'm so happy for that beautifull baby i only came across the thread today i was away for vacation and when i saw those pics i was in real shock that baby looks exactly like my baby girl and that got my heart aching i'm really happy for the good news what a relife thank you for being the voice of that baby

Yeah!! I've been afraid to check this thread because I was afraid of the outcome. At first I was worried because AJ is very thin also - then I saw the pics and got really mad!!! I am so glad you spoke for this baby - you gave him a voice!!!!!
