My neighbors must think I'm nuts. When I first started training Murphy, when he'd pee I'd say "go pee...good boy" over and over until he finished. Then lots of praise and a treat. I did the same thing with #2. Now when he goes outside, I say "go pee" repeatedly to try to get him to go on command. As soon as he stops going, I stop and give lots of praise. Then I do "go poo". Again, until he's done then praise. I've hopefully paired those words with going to the bathroom so I get the ball rolling so to speak if he gets distracted in the yard. Seems to be working quite well. He's not fully housebroken yet (10 weeks old). But has learned to go sit by the door when he wants to go out. We still don't leave him unattended unless he just went to the bathroom. Even then, it's for less than a minute because the chewing starts

My hopes are that the same techniques work with Lance.
I agree with the schedule, watching all the time, and taking them out probably more often than you think. I've begun to figure out his pattern a bit, and try to be as consistent as possible (like going out 15-20 mins after a meal, right after he's done playing, etc.)
You'll get it!
