How excited are you when praising Daisy?

:) This excited? or
foolicon This excited?

I'm sure the neighbours thought I'd won the lotto when Biff first started peeing outside. You've really got to be mega excited, jump about like a loony and clap hands and praise! praise! praise! in a high pitched squeaky voice!

This is no joke! It really does make a difference to be a foolicon!!!!!!!!!!!!! They love it; and their behavior feeds off from it!

Okay so Diesel is 3 months and I have to admit Daisy has taught him more than I have, although he has had a few accidents. I let him out ALL the time, I mean after every play session! When ever they stop to take a break or get a drink of water, wake up from that nap it's "Let’s go outside potty". As far as training him on sit, stay, down and even shake I wait until he is bored! Until he and Daisy are done playing and he is laying down. That’s when I get his uninvited attention, of course it usually only lasts about 5 minutes, but we are making progress. He can now sit, stay (for about 5 seconds) and his favorite is shaking, for that treat of course! ;) I can not take the credit for teaching "shake" that was all Daisy. Way to go Daisy:D

My neighbors must think I'm nuts. When I first started training Murphy, when he'd pee I'd say "go pee...good boy" over and over until he finished. Then lots of praise and a treat. I did the same thing with #2. Now when he goes outside, I say "go pee" repeatedly to try to get him to go on command. As soon as he stops going, I stop and give lots of praise. Then I do "go poo". Again, until he's done then praise. I've hopefully paired those words with going to the bathroom so I get the ball rolling so to speak if he gets distracted in the yard. Seems to be working quite well. He's not fully housebroken yet (10 weeks old). But has learned to go sit by the door when he wants to go out. We still don't leave him unattended unless he just went to the bathroom. Even then, it's for less than a minute because the chewing starts :) My hopes are that the same techniques work with Lance.

I agree with the schedule, watching all the time, and taking them out probably more often than you think. I've begun to figure out his pattern a bit, and try to be as consistent as possible (like going out 15-20 mins after a meal, right after he's done playing, etc.)

You'll get it!
