Abbie and I have been living in our new town house for about a year. Well we have alot of Pigeons that hang out in our back yard sit on our fence and up in the trees. She has been obsessed with catching one of these since we have lived here. She would stalk all day if I let her. Saturday was a lovely day outside it was atleast about 65 degrees ouside so let her play outside most of the day. One of the times I went to check on her I noticed she had been sitting at the same place with the proudest look on her face so I go out to play with her and find a Pigeon with its head off and her guarding the body. She was so proud of herself I wish you could have seen the look on her face when I placed a large bucket over that poor Pigeon. She was so offended. She huffed and puffed and would not play with me for the rest of the day. I can not say I minded I was a little grossed out. I brushed her teeth right away.

I can only imagine the look on the face of your proud baby! Took a lot of practice to get one of those dang birds.

And here you come to spoil it and hide the evidence. Shame on you! LOL

Ugh, that brings back memories. I put my boys in the backyard for a few minutes while I watered my plants out front last summer and when I went back to get them I noticed that Beau was very focused on something between his paws. As I got closer I discovered that it was 2 mangled birds! I was sad that he'd hurt them but grossed out, too. He looked so proud of himself and couldn't figure out why I was taking his toys away. I'm sure it's the same look Abbie had on her face! YUCK!!!

Haha. That is so gross, but so dang cute at the same time. Abby hasn't really had a chance to experience all the little bugs of summer. I only just got her in November, can't wait till winter is over! :D

Mean ol' Mommy. She worked hard at that and you stole her thunder. I can just see the look on her face. My Cody is quite the mouser, and as we live in the country every change of season mice like to come in. So Cody will catch the mice and then Daddy takes them away. Cody has the most hurt and heartbroken look on his little face.

I am going to catch her trying to do it again on my camera. It is so funny. She has a very high prey drive. When ever I make her stop she gets so upset. She is just like a spoiled child. She will huff, puff and shake her head when she is not pleased.

Our Simba has a very high prey drive. He will stalk and kill anything that comes into our backyard. Frogs, rabbits, birds you name it. When he catches something he will run from us until he has eaten it. My wife called me at work one day to give me a play by play of Simba eating a rabbit. Charger our fawn just looks at him like he's disgusting and while he'll box frogs and little critters he won't mouth them.

All my dogs have caught birds. Thor caught a rabbit once and was so proud he took to the fence to show it to the neighbor's dogs. Who took the head. (YUCK!) My neighbor called to let me know about Thor catch, she failed to mention that her dog had the head. DH and I searched the yard for over an hour looking for it, when we couldn't find it we assumed Thor ate it.

We have a screened porch which has a doggie door, when it is warm I leave the door open and the dogs go in and out as they please. Arabella was maybe 5 months old when she caught a mouse and a few days later a snake. She was so proud she would bring her catches in the house to show me. I have since trained her to drop anything from outside at the door.
